This position is located in the Farm Service Agency Texas State Office, Office of the State Executive Director located in College Station, TX. The selectee assists the State Execute Director and Executive Officer in planning, coordinating, and monitoring a variety of administrative management services provided to the State and County Office.
This position is being filled through the Office of Personnel Management's (OPM) College Graduates Hiring Authority.
Duties
Provides a variety of administrative and management services essential to the direction and operation of the State Executive Director’s Office.
Functions include activities related to administrative analysis, facilities management, security, travel, budget, purchasing and invoicing, tracking and project administration.
Manages a variety of administrative processes and ensures that procedures meet office needs and are consistently understood and followed by the staff
Establishes and continually reviews, updates, and develops complex administrative office procedures that affect the orderly and efficient flow of work within the office and with parties and agencies outside the organization.
Requirements

Qualifications
To meet the minimum requirements for this position, you must: (1) Meet the Eligibility Requirements for College Graduates; (2) Provide a copy of transcripts for verification; AND (3) Meet the Minimum Qualification Requirements.
College Graduate Eligibility Requirements:
Completion of all requirements for a bachelors or master's from a qualifying educational institution within the previous two (2) years. Current students who are scheduled to graduate within 120 days may also apply to these positions. However, these students cannot be appointed until after graduation and the official degree has been awarded and conferred.; or
Due to military service obligation, was precluded from applying to the College Graduate Program during any portion of the 2-year eligibility period described above shall have an intervening period of obligated service of at least four years in the uniformed services, the two-year eligibility begins on the date of discharge or release from uniformed service.

For the GS-7 level, an applicant must have:
A bachelor's degree in human resources, social or behavioral sciences or in such fields as business or public administration or industrial management, psychology, labor relations, or education from an accredited college or university with either: 1) a grade point average (GPA) of 3.0 based on a 4.0 scale; 2) a 3.5 GPA based on a 4.0 scale for required courses completed in a major field of study during the last two years of undergraduate study; 3) class standing of upper third of the graduating class in the college, university, or major subdivision of the college; 4) membership in a National Scholastic Honor Society certified by the Association of College Honor Societies, excluding freshman honor societies; OR
One year of graduate education from an accredited college or university with a major in human resources, social or behavioral sciences or in such fields as business or public administration or industrial management, psychology, labor relations, or education; OR
One full-time year of specialized experience equivalent to at least the GS-5 level of the Federal service that demonstrates experience providing administrative support to coordinate priorities, commitments and program goals of an office. This includes providing technical assistance for support services, budget/project tracking, program analysis and skill in using various software packages to prepare reports. OR
A combination of graduate education and experience as listed above.
For the GS-9 level:
Two full academic years of progressively higher level graduate education or master's, or equivalent graduate degree (LLB, JD, LLM, Ph.D., etc.), from an accredited college or university with a major in human resources, social or behavioral sciences or in such fields as business or public administration or industrial management, psychology, labor relations, or education; OR
One full-time year of specialized experience equivalent to at least the GS-7 level of the Federal service that demonstrates experience providing administrative support to coordinate priorities, commitments and program goals of an office. This includes providing technical assistance for support services, budget/project tracking, program analysis and skill in using various software packages to prepare reports; experience includes coordinating the work of others and independently setting procedures and guidelines for others to follow. OR
A combination of education and experience as listed above.
