As a Program Specialist with the Space Communications and Navigation Program (SCaN), Space Operations Mission Directorate, you will serve as the expert and manage strategic communications for the program. You will be responsible for ensuring coherent and effective external messaging, while overseeing relevant procedures, schedules, and resources. You will coordinate key engagements with policy groups and arenas of interest to SCaN and ensure awareness of SCaN's role in NASA mission success.
Duties
Defines, executes, and manages Space Communications and Navigation (SCaN) strategic communications including programmatic portfolio and related resources while ensuring coherent messaging across the program.
Manages strategic communications, social media, and general organizational correspondence for the organization.
Develops strategic communications plans including communications support for SCaN.
Pursues engagements and communications activities that enhance intra-agency, interagency, and external awareness of the role of SCaN in NASA’s mission success.
Leads coordination of SCaN engagement in interagency and international policy organizations relevant to the SCaN and NASA mission.
Collaborates with and serves as a liaison to the Space Operations Mission Directorate Strategic Communications and Engagement lead and NASA’s Office of Communications.
Ensures accuracy and alignment of all programmatic communication products.
Manages, prioritizes, and integrates strategic communications and employee morale efforts as well as the development of communications that substantiate program performance and demonstrate program progress.

Qualifications
Specialized experience is experience that has equipped you with the particular ability, skill, and knowledge to successfully perform the duties of this position and is typically in or related to this line of work.
To qualify for GS-15, you must have one year of directly related specialized experience equivalent to the GS-14 level:
Developing and implementing strategic communication plans using modern communications philosophies, strategies, approaches, and tactics, including social media;
Leading teams of communications specialists and collaborating with multiple stakeholders; and
Managing cost, schedule, and resources in program management and marketing contexts, including for execution of communication strategies.
