The Physical Therapist positions is located in the Rehabilitation Services Department at the Whiteriver Service Unit in Whiteriver, Arizona. The incumbent will provide advanced clinical physical therapy services for complex patients or unusual health conditions as well as directing rehabilitation staff and support staff in the operation of the department. The Incumbents will report to the Chief of Physical Therapy onsite.
Duties
Performs advanced physical therapy tests and measures to determine the objectives, methods and therapeutic techniques based on patient pathology, functional deficits and physical and cognitive impairments
Responsible for directing rehabilitation staff and support staff in the operation of the department.
Provides input for protocols and standard operating procedures (SOP) for PT programs as well as related hospital clinical services.
Provide professional oversight and interdisciplinary consultation to professional staff on patient assessment and treatment planning in advanced clinical specialty areas.
Provides technical supervision of, oversight of, and collaboration with the Physical Therapist Assistant (PTA).
Direct, teach and mentor clinical support staff as well as the student/intern training program.
Oversees equipment/supply inventory, department infection control, safety and hazardous materials.
Guides and evaluates the work of a multi-disciplinary team to advance the care of patients in a specialized area of physical therapy.

BASIC REQUIREMENT(S):
Education: A graduate or higher level degree that included: A physical therapy curriculum approved by the Commission on Accreditation of Allied Health Education Programs (CAAHEP) or a professional accrediting organization recognized by the U.S. Department of Education at the time the degree was obtained; and Completion of the clinical requirements prescribed by the school.

MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS:
GS-11 Grade Level: Your resume must demonstrate at least one (1) year of specialized experience equivalent to GS-09 grade level in the Federal service obtained in either the private or public sector performing the following type of work and/or tasks: Examples include: Meet patient's goals and needs and provide quality care by assessing and interpreting evaluating and test results; determine physical therapy treatment plans, administer physical therapy treatments, instruct patients, families, and caregivers in home exercise programs, providing information and conducting in-service training with Physical Therapy staff. Support, implement, and direct wound specialty program.
OR
Completed three years of progressively higher level graduate education leading to a Ph.D. degree or Ph.D. or equivalent doctoral degree.
OR
Possess a combination of education and experience as described above, that when combined fully meet the minimum qualifications for this position. The total percentage equals at least 100 percent to qualify for this GS-11 grade level.
Combination of Graduate Education and Professional Experience: Combinations of successfully completed graduate level education and specialized experience may be used to meet total experience requirements. Only graduate level education in excess of the amount required for the next lower grade level may be combined with experience.
GS-12 Grade Level: Your resume must demonstrate at least one (1) year of specialized experience equivalent to the GS-11 grade level in the Federal service obtained in either the private or public sector performing the following type of work and/or tasks: Examples include: Planning and carrying out a full range of treatment where therapeutic objectives are complex and the procedures involved require the application of highly specialized skills and knowledge. Support, implement and direct wound specialty program.
