This position is under the direct supervision of the Supervisory Pharmacist for the Pine Ridge Service Unit. The incumbent will, for the most part be stationed at Wanblee Health Cener but may work at other areas such as the Pine Ridge Hospital, Kyle Health Center, LaCreek Health Center, mobile clinic, and other community outreach clinics. Duties

Responsible for all pharmacy-related operations at the clinic. Serves as the consultant for the Purchased/Referred Care program on medication related services, questions, follow up and other tasks needed for contract pharmacy services. Forecasts and prepares budget requests for pharmacy services and proposed pharmacy staffing plans for Wanblee Health Center. Supervises pharmacy staff and delegates tasks to balance workload. Provides expert pharmaceutical services, with an emphasis on patient therapeutic drug monitoring. Establishes policies, procedures, and processes to establish pharmacy services and ensures compliancy with all applicable laws and regulations. Develops and implements quality improvement measures and provides regular reports to the Chief Pharmacist and the CEO for governing board meetings. Manages reports, receipts, and inventory for all controlled substances.

Qualifications

To qualify for this position, your resume must state sufficient experience and/or education, to perform the duties of the specific position for which you are applying. Experience refers to paid and unpaid experience, including volunteer work done through National Service programs (e.g., Peace Corps, AmeriCorps) and other organizations (e.g., professional; philanthropic; religious; spiritual; community; social). You will receive credit for all qualifying experience, including volunteer and part time experience. You must clearly identify the duties and responsibilities in each position held and the total number of hours per week. BASIC REQUIREMENT(S): Individual Occupational Requirement (IOR) EDUCATION: Must have a completed a doctoral degree in Pharmacy that is recognized by the Accreditation Council for Pharmacy Education (ACPE) or an accrediting body recognized by the U.S. Department of Education at the time the degree was obtained. OR current employee and was assigned to a position under federal appointment or Commissioned Corps in the GS-0660 occupational series as of September 30, 2017. OR enrolled in a professional Pharmacist program and expect to complete qualifying education with 9 months. LICENSE: Must have passed the North American Pharmacist Licensure Examination (NAPLEX) and the Multistate Pharmacy Jurisprudence Examination (MPJE) and am licensed to practice pharmacy in a State, the District of Columbia, the Commonwealth of Puerto Rico, or a territory of the United States. COLORS: Must be able to distinguish colors. In addition, to the Basic Requirements, you must also meet the Minimum Qualifications stated below- MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS: Your resume must demonstrate at least one (1) year of specialized experience equivalent to at least the next lower grade level in the Federal service obtained in either the private or public sector performing the following type of work and/or tasks: GS-12: One (1) year specialized experience equivalent to at least the next lower grade level in the Federal service obtained in either the private or public sector performing the following type of work and/or tasks: Demonstrated professional experience in directing a hospital or clinic pharmacy program which includes experience in supervising staff, directing all activities in pharmacy, developing and implementing pharmacy policies and procedures, experience in working with accreditation standards and performance improvement activities. Experience in working with and managing healthcare information systems. You must meet all qualification requirements within 30 days of the closing date of the announcement.
