Duties
As a Field Office Director, you will:
Focus on actions and activities to assure the effective local implementation of HUD's Strategic Plan and related annual management plan goals and objectives, to help assure the longer term health of the organization, and the continuous improvement of the delivery of programs and services to HUD's clientele.
Responsible for ensuring collaboration and coordination of programs, projects and initiatives with other organizations both within HUD and across agencies.
Provide overall leadership and direction to all staff within the Field Office, through program supervisors, and through direct supervision of front-office FPM staff and out-stationed staff.
Develop the ability of others to perform and contribute to the organization by providing on-going feedback and providing opportunities to learn through formal and informal methods.
Qualifications
You must meet the following requirements within 30 days of the closing date of this announcement.
Specialized Experience: For the GS-15 grade level, you must have one year (52 full weeks) of specialized experience at a level of difficulty and responsibility equivalent to the GS-14 grade level in the Federal service. Specialized Experience for this position includes:
- Leading, directing or managing programs that provide affordable housing, OR community development OR otherwise improve the conditions of persons living in poverty; AND
-Collaborating with high-level Federal, State, and Local officials and organizations to effectively promote your programs goals and objectives.
Experience may have been gained in either the public, private sector or volunteer service. One year of experience refers to full-time work; part-time work is considered on a prorated basis. To ensure full credit for your work experience, please indicate dates of employment by month/day/year, and indicate number of hours worked per week on your resume.
Time-in-Grade: In addition to the above requirements, you must meet the following time-in-grade requirement, if applicable:
For the GS-15 you must have been at the GS-14 level for 52 weeks.
Time After Competitive Appointment: Candidates who are current Federal employees serving on a non-temporary competitive appointment must have served at least three months in that appointment.
