This position is located in the United States Department of Agriculture, Agricultural Research Service, Beltsville Agricultural Research Center in Beltsville, MD.
In this position, you will serve as part of the Supervisor's management team to ensure project management of a wide range of facilities related projects and process control improvement using in-house and contractual agreements.
Duties
Manage building automation systems including monitoring contractor performance, identifying service and maintenance tasks, and providing technical direction to the contractor.
Provide technical support related to construction and repair projects for facilities and input to the Supervisory General Engineer and Engineering Project Manager (EPM) during planning and design stages.
Work with program staff to determine their needs and develop cost estimates and specifications for in-house repair and maintenance projects.
Utilize software to provide system control and oversight, repair history, quality of the data entered, and documentation of current and future maintenance operations.
Develop solutions and make recommendations for project changes to accommodate unexpected problems.
Requirements

Qualifications

GS-11:
Specialized Experience: Specialized experience is experience directly related to the position to be filled. Specialized experience must be described for each grade level advertised. The specialized experience requirements for this position are: Qualifying experience for GS-11 includes one year of specialized experience comparable to GS-10 which is directly related to the work of this position, and which has equipped the applicant with the knowledge, skills, and abilities to perform successfully the duties of the position. For this position, specialized experience is experience providing technical engineering support in the construction, repair, or renovation of facilities; interpreting or reviewing facility designs and drawings; composing or reviewing contracts for projects; and developing cost estimates for a variety of construction projects.
Experience refers to paid and unpaid experience, including volunteer work done through National Service programs (e.g., Peace Corps, AmeriCorps) and other organizations (e.g., professional; philanthropic; religious; spiritual; community, student, social). Volunteer work helps build critical competencies and can provide valuable training and experience that translates directly to paid employment.
