You will serve as an ELECTRONICS ENGINEER in the DIGITAL ANALYTICS INFRASTRUCTURE AND TECHNOLOGY ADVANCEMENT (DAITA) GROUP, PROTOTYPING INSTRUMENTATION & EXPERIMENTATION DEPARTMENT, AIRCRAFT PROTOTYPE SYSTEMS DIVISION, PROTOTYPE ENGINEERING BRANCH of NAVAIRWARCENAC DIV.
Duties
You will be responsible for the overall design, fabrication and installation efforts during prototype and early production installation of major new avionic upgrade programs.
You will advise and lead design teams consisting of mechanical/electrical engineers and designers; and interface with customers, system engineers, PMA’s test engineers, logistics personnel, and other personnel.
You will participate in program status meetings, prepare and present presentations for program design reviews, and attend and participate in weekly team meetings.
You will be responsible for tracking schedule, cost and technical accomplishments, and resolving programmatic and technical issues.
You will be responsible for assisting teams with completion and delivery of an accurate Installation Data Package consisting of the aircraft Modification Drawing Package and necessary engineering analysis/reports.

Qualifications
Your resume must demonstrate at least one year of specialized experience at or equivalent to the GS-13 grade level or DP-04 pay band in the Federal service or equivalent experience in the private or public sector. Specialized experience must demonstrate the following: 1) Knowledge and understanding of aircraft navigation, communication, aircraft wiring and power systems; 2) Applying standards and knowledge necessary to design, fabricate, install, and test systems and system components; 3) Defending rationales for design concepts in support of flight clearance activities or to community experts from a system function perspective; 4) Leading a team of engineers, technicians, drafters, and artisans to develop and deploy platform capability in accordance with APSD and NAWC processes.

Education
Applicants must meet the following basic education requirements of the Office of Personnel Management (OPM) Qualifications Standards Manual:
Successful completion of a professional engineering degree. To be acceptable, the program must: (1) lead to a bachelor's degree (or higher) in a school of engineering with at least one program accredited by the Accreditation Board for Engineering and Technology (ABET); or (2) include differential and integral calculus and courses (more advanced than first-year physics and chemistry) in five of the following seven areas of engineering science or physics: (a) statics, dynamics; (b) strength of materials (stress-strain relationships); (c) fluid mechanics, hydraulics; (d) thermodynamics; (e) electrical fields and circuits; (f) nature and properties of materials (relating particle and aggregate structure to properties); and (g) any other comparable area of fundamental engineering science or physics, such as optics, heat transfer, soil mechanics, or electronics. Such education must demonstrate the knowledge, skills, and abilities necessary to do the work of the position.

Current registration as an Engineer Intern (EI), Engineer in Training (EIT), or licensure as a Professional Engineer (PE) by any State, the District of Columbia, Guam, or Puerto Rico. Successful completion of at least 60 semester hours of courses in the physical, mathematical, and engineering sciences and in engineering that included the courses specified in the basic requirements under paragraph A (above). The courses must be fully acceptable toward meeting the requirements of an engineering program as described in paragraph A (above)

Successful completion of a curriculum leading to a bachelor's degree in an appropriate scientific field, e.g., engineering technology, physics, chemistry, architecture, computer science, mathematics, hydrology, or geology, may be accepted in lieu of a bachelor's degree in engineering, provided the applicant has had at least one year of professional engineering experience acquired under professional engineering supervision and guidance. Ordinarily, there should be either an established plan of intensive training to develop professional engineering competence, or several years of prior professional engineering-type experience, e.g., in interdisciplinary positions.
