This position is located in the Office of the Under Secretary for Policy, Build America Bureau. The Build America Bureau is responsible for driving transportation infrastructure development projects in the United States.  

Duties

The Director, Office of Outreach and Project Development serves as Bureau’s Chief Business Development Officer and provides oversight and coordination of project development activities including initial intake conversations with potential borrowers, exploring various options with them, conducting eligibility determination, and aiding them to finalize the Letter of Interest (LOI) package.  The Director leads the initiative to receive, prioritize, and assign outreach goals and ensure consistency, transparency, compliance, and coordination to meet program goals.

Qualifications

As a basic requirement for entry into the Senior Executive Service (SES), you must clearly articulate and describe within your five (5) page resume evidence of progressively responsible supervisory, managerial, or professional experience which involved management of a program or organization of significant scope and complexity.  Your resume must provide information regarding your professional experience and accomplishments that demonstrate your ability to perform the duties of this position and meet the mandatory Technical Qualification(s) and Managerial Executive Core Qualifications listed below. TECHNICAL QUALIFICATIONS (TQs): Below are the descriptions of the mandatory technical qualifications for this position. Your five (5) page resume must provide information regarding your professional experience and accomplishments that demonstrate you meet these technical qualifications.  TQ 1- Demonstrated executive experience with project planning, procurement and developing and implementing comprehensive business plans that focus on financing and delivering transportation infrastructures. TQ 2- Demonstrated executive experience creating and maintaining strategic external partnerships, building strong partnerships with different stakeholders and project sponsors, and has a deep understanding of market needs, conditions and standing process to enable the Build America Bureau to drive transportation infrastructure development projects, especially buildings. TQ 3- Demonstrated executive experience leading cross office collaboration, managing, and inspiring a diverse workforce, building consensus and coalitions within the workforce, identifying efficiencies, proposing new solutions, and executing change in collaboration with relevant internal stakeholders. EXECUTIVE CORE QUALIFICATIONS (ECQs): Below are descriptions of the mandatory ECQs that are required for all SES positions.
