Serves as an Electronics Technician providing organization technical support for a multitude of highly complex integrated systems which directly support the Federal Aviation Administration (FAA) Academy systems.
Duties
Responsibilities may or may not include inspection, oversight, planning, developing, coordinating, deploying, implementing, maintaining, and replacing systems of assigned facilities and/or systems. The incumbent is required to interact with personnel from the FAA Academy and representatives both internal and external to the FAA.

- US Citizenship is required.
- Selective Service Registration is required for males born after 12/31/1959.
- Must submit an SF50 (See Required Documents).
- May be required to serve a one year probationary period.
- Successful completion of a security investigation may be required.
- Pre-Employment Physical is Required.

Qualifications
For FG-0856-09: You must demonstrate in your application you possess one (1) year of Specialized Experience equivalent to the FG-7 level. Specialized experience is experience that has equipped you with the particular knowledge, skills, and abilities to perform successfully the duties of the position. Specialized experience includes: experience with information technology, electronics, and system maintenance; experience with technical instructions, manufacturers' manuals, and policies; experience problem solving to solve complex issues to complete a project or task.OREducation: Two full years of graduate education or a master's degree meets the requirements for FG-9 only in those instances where it is directly related to the work of the position. (Transcripts will be required).For FG-0856-11: You must demonstrate in your application you possess one (1) year of Specialized Experience equivalent to the FG-9 level. Specialized experience is experience that has equipped you with the particular knowledge, skills, and abilities to perform successfully the duties of the position. Specialized experience includes: experience with information technology, electronics, and system maintenance; experience planning, developing, modifying, and troubleshooting research system technology; experience coordinating projects, tasks, and cases across units, organizations, or agencies.For FG-0856-12: You must demonstrate in your application you possess one (1) year of Specialized Experience equivalent to the FG-10/11 level. Specialized experience is experience that has equipped you with the particular knowledge, skills, and abilities to perform successfully the duties of the position. Specialized experience includes: experience with information technology, electronics, and system maintenance; experience researching trends and patterns; experience developing new methods and proposing new policies and practices; experience assessing program effectiveness, conducting risk analysis assessment, and cost-benefit analysis.ANDQRF: A well-qualified applicant will have knowledge of Navigation or Radar systems.ANDPhysical Requirements: You must be able to perform efficiently the essential functions of the position without hazard to yourself or others.
