This position is being recruited under 10 USC 1599f into the Cyber Excepted Service and does NOT convey eligibility to be converted to the Competitive Service. It has been identified as a position necessary to carry out and support the mission of the US Cyber Command.
It is in the Professional Work Category at the Senior Work Level within the CES Occupational Structure. It is located in the DISA - JFHQ/DODIN R AND SI DIRECTORATE.
Duties
Serve as an advisor on policy and doctrine for the JFHQ-DODIN, providing analysis and advice to operations concerning the development, implementation and modification of long and short-range planning initiatives in support of DCO-IDM synchronization.
Support coordination efforts between Combatant Commands, Services, Agencies, and Field Activities on all planning and strategy matters relating to DODIN Operations and Defensive Cyberspace Operations Internal Defensive Measures (DCO-IDM).
Conduct research, analysis, and correlation across a wide variety of all source data sets (indications and warnings).
Communicate with DODIN contributors to arrange and schedule DODIN inspections to evaluate the inspected entities DCO-IDM effectiveness and cyber compliance.
Lead DOD-level working groups and initiatives to explore ongoing integration issues among the cybersecurity provider (CSSP) community.

- This position is covered under DoD Manual 8140 which will be subject to future Cyber Workforce requirements as defined by the Manual.
Qualifications
In order to qualify for this position, you must meet the requirements described below.
Basic Requirements:
Undergraduate or Graduate Education: Degree in computer science, engineering, information science, information systems management, mathematics, operations research, statistics, or technology management or degree that provided a minimum of 24 semester hours in one or more of the fields identified above and required the development or adaptation of applications, systems or networks.
Or
Attention to Detail - experience reviewing my own information technology-related work or data and have been asked by others to review their work or data to ensure accuracy, completeness, and consistency with standards.
Customer Service - experience maintaining relationships with customers, assessing current information technology needs of customers, and developing or identifying information technology products and services that are tailored to meet customer needs.
Oral Communication - briefing mid-level management and IT staff on the status of information technology systems, projects, or daily operations, including the communication of technical information to a non-technical audience.
Problem Solving - identifying alternatives to address complex information technology-related issues by gathering and applying information from a variety of sources that provide a number of potential solutions.
Qualifying Experience:
To qualify at the GG-13, your resume must describe at least one year of experience that demonstrates the competencies necessary for immediate success in the position. Experience refers to any paid or unpaid experience, including volunteer work and Military service, that would be considered equivalent to work normally performed at the next lower grade level in the federal service.
For this position, qualifying experience is defined as: Experience providing advice and supporting the execution of organization cybersecurity inspections through formulation, coordination and management of policy guidance, strategy, and doctrine. Supporting the planning efforts for all assessment, inspection, audit orders and annexes. Drafting detailed plans, staff estimates and decision briefs for implementation of the organization's intent for cybersecurity inspections and validates report findings, conclusions, and recommendations.

This position has been designated as "Mission Essential." Incumbent will be required to report to work or relocate to a new duty location, within the United States, in times of local/national emergency.
This position may be designated as Emergency Essential. Incumbent must sign a statement of understanding and an agreement to continue to perform the duties of this position in the event of a crisis until relieved by proper authority. Incumbent's dependents shall be evacuated from the crisis zone with the same priority as other DoD-sponsored evacuees. You may be required, as a condition of employment, to take the series of anthrax vaccine immunizations to include annual boosters. This may also include other immunizations that may in the future be required for this position, or for a position you may fill as an emergency-essential alternate. Failure to take the immunizations may lead to your removal from this position or separation from Federal Service.
