Duties
Responsible for program direction, execution, and review of all activities within the Glennallen Field Office.
Plan, budget, organize, implement, and evaluate a broad array of complex resource management programs requiring intensive multiple use management skills.
Conduct resource planning and management in coordination with representatives of Federal, State, tribal and local governments, the general public, public land users and private landowners.
Make decisions that sustain the health, diversity, and productivity of the public lands for the use and enjoyment of present and future generations.
Provide supervision, direction, coaching and support to facilitate problem solving and accomplishment of the Glennallen Field Office Mission while creating strong mutual respect with and between teams and individual employees.
Requirements

Qualifications

You must possess one (1) full year of specialized experience at or equivalent to the GS-12 level that is equivalent in difficulty and complexity as indicated by the following examples: 1) implementing a complex land and natural resource program; 2) coordinating land and resource planning and management with federal, state or local governments; 3) ensuring proper utilization of personnel, equipment, material and finances for field offices; and 4) implementing education and training programs for subordinate staff. (NOTE: Experience must include experience with land and natural resources).
Experience refers to paid and unpaid experience, including volunteer work done through National Service programs (e.g., Peace Corps, AmeriCorps) and other organizations (e.g., professional; philanthropic; religious; spiritual; community, student, social). Volunteer work helps build critical competencies, knowledge, and skills and can provide valuable training and experience that translates directly to paid employment. You will receive credit for all qualifying experience, including volunteer experience.
You must meet all qualification requirements within 30 days of the closing date of the announcement.
Federal employees in the competitive service are also subject to the Time-In-Grade requirement in accordance with 5 CFR 300.604. If you are a current Federal employee in the General Schedule (GS) pay plan and applying for a promotion opportunity, you must have completed a minimum of 52 weeks at the next lower grade level.
There are no qualification requirements for a detail assignment. However employees must meet any positive education/licensure requirements in order to be detailed to positions with these requirements. Detail assignments do not include additional compensation and the selectee will not earn time-in-grade at the higher grade level.
