THIS POSITION IS UNDER THE DIRECT SUPERVISION OF THE FITNESS DIRECTOR, RECREATION DIVISION, MORALE, WELFARE AND RECREATION DEPARTMENT, NAVAL AIR STATION, CORPUS CHRISTI, TEXAS. THE PURPOSE OF THIS POSITION IS THE MAINTENANCE AND UPKEEP OF FITNESS GROUNDS AND TURF OF THE SPORTS FIELDS, MARINA AND RV PARK TO ENSURE THAT THEY ARE IN EXCELLENT CONDITION

Duties

Digs and rakes ground to prepare and clean traps. Cuts turf on greens and tees using hand power mowers at the gold course. Repairs cart paths, walks and other areas using shovels, rakes, spaded and other tools. Removes, repairs and rotates tires. Operates shop tools and uses hand tools to sharpen mower blades, trimmers and edgers. Assist in cleaning, repair and storage of recreation equipment. Drives a vehicle to retrieve and launch rental boats. Inspects pier and campsite area for cleanliness and authorized campers. Performs lawn maintenance and general up keep of fitness area and campsites. Ensures sports field are keep in excellent condition for sport events. Performs other duties as assigned.

Requirements

• Must meet Federal Employment suitability requirements and successful completion of background investigation. Background investigations are conducted using fingerprint identification and completion of background inquiry forms.
• Must successfully pass the E-verify employment verification check. Any discrepancies must be resolved as a condition of employment.
