About the Position: Serves as a Branch Chief overseeing the daily price/cost analysis, administration and operations of a cost/price acquisition branch of the Army Contracting Command-Redstone Arsenal (ACC-RSA). ACC-RSA is the largest contacting center in the U.S. Army with more than 900 contracting and acquisition professionals.
Duties
Provide direction/guidance to a group of professional, technical, and support personnel engaged in managing, directing, coordinating, and controlling aspects of highly complex defense acquisition programs.
Support Agency Affirmative Action/Equal Opportunity Program ensuring principles are reflected in aspects of personnel management.
Assign work while establishing priorities based on workload.
Evaluate performance of subordinates to give advice and counsel on both work and administrative matters.
Interviews/recommends selections for positions, promotions, and reassignments.
Studies regulatory issuances to determine impact on operations.
Ensure subordinates properly analyze and apply contracting rules, regulations and procedures.
Exercise responsibility in the application of contract and procurement laws, rules and regulations.
Interpret contracting/rules from Federal, Department of Defense and Department of the Army to ensure compliance of agency contracting functions.
Requirements
- Appointment may be subject to a suitability or fitness determination, as determined by a completed background investigation.
- Must file a Financial Disclosure Statement, OGE, Form 450, upon entry onto the position and annually thereafter.
- This position is supervisory. A one year probation to assess your ability to perform supervisory duties is required unless previously completed. Are you willing to serve a one year supervisory probation period?
- Must be able to obtain and maintain a Secret security clearance. If the security clearance is denied or revoked, the individual may be denied or removed from the position, accordingly.
- This position has a Temporary Duty (TDY) or business travel requirement of 25% of the time.
- This is an Army Acquisition, Logistics and Technology Workforce position. Selectee must meet position requirements for Contracting Professional certification within 36 months as of entrance on duty.
- This position is Critical Acquisition Position (CAP). Incumbent must meet the requirements for CAP at time of hire.
- This is a Critical Acquisition Position (CAP). This position requires a 3-year tenure agreement.

Basic Requirement for Supervisory Contract Price/Cost Analyst: Degree: Bachelor's degree (or higher degree) from an accredited educational institution
OR
Exemption: You are exempt from the education requirements above if (A) you are a current DoD employee, in any occupational series, who has served on or before September 30, 2000, as follows: (1) Served as a GS/equivalent-1102 position or contracting officer position with authority to award or administer contracts above the SAT in any Federal agency, OR (2) Served as a military member in a comparable military occupational specialty; OR (B) you are a current member of the armed forces who occupied a position within an occupational specialty similar to the GS-1102 series on or before September 30, 2000.
In addition to meeting the basic requirement above, to qualify for this position you must also meet the qualification requirements listed below:
Specialized Experience: One year of specialized experience which includes providing technical advice for Contract Price/Cost Analysis and advise on complex sole source major weapon system procurement; review/analysis cost accounting procedures and processes for major contractors; facilitate efficient, cost effective, customer oriented procedures while maintaining high quality standards to enable contracting officers to obtain fair and reasonable prices on multi-billion dollar acquisitions; recommend balanced strategies for international and other agency acquisitions.
This definition of specialized experience is typical of work performed at the next lower grade/level position in the federal service (NH-03-/GS-13).
