You will serve as a DEPUTY MAINTENANCE OFFICER in the OFFICE OF THE COMMANDER, STRIKE FIGHTER WING PACIFIC STAFF.
Duties
You will serve as the Deputy Maintenance Officer facilitating managerial continuity for Maintenance Department operations and providing the Maintenance Officer with management advice and guidance in all aspects of maintenance operations.
You will represent the Maintenance Officer in decision making and negotiations with other officials of parallel or higher levels.
You will provide continuity for planning; directing and controlling the overall manning, training, and material readiness; and inspection and evaluation of 17 deployable squadrons, associated detachments, and one Fleet Replacement Squadron (FRS).
You will exercise direct supervision over all activities of assigned staff members and evaluate performance and execution of assigned duties.
You will monitor the manpower status of each supported activity and coordinate with manpower authorities to obtain and assign adequate numbers of maintenance personnel to achieve readiness requirements.
You will coordinate and monitor accomplishment of formal training to include prioritization of maintenance training quota assignments for classes.
You will standardize the syllabi, materials, lesson guides, certification requirements, and documentation for in-service maintenance training.
You will manage aircraft and equipment to provide sufficient numbers of properly configured aircraft and ancillary equipment engines and avionics to supported activities.
You will manage the distribution of facilities and verify adequacy to support aircraft and equipment maintenance.
You will publish and execute plans to support current and future maintenance operations.
Requirements

- This position may require travel from normal duty station to CONUS and OCONUS and may include remote or isolated sites. You must be able to travel on military and commercial aircraft for extended periods of time.
- This position is considered Key/Emergency-Essential. You will be required to provide immediate and continuing support to ensure the success of combat operations or the availability of combat-essential systems.
- Supervisors in the executive branch have a heightened personal responsibility for advancing government ethics. You will be required to review the 14 General Principles of Ethical Conduct at 5 CFR 2635.101.
Qualifications
Your resume must demonstrate at least one year of specialized experience at or equivalent to the GS-12 grade level or pay band in the Federal service or equivalent experience in the private or public sector. Specialized experience must demonstrate the following: applying principles, concepts, and practices concerning equipment, facility, or service operations to develop plans that support aircraft maintenance operations and optimize overall material readiness.
