Duties

You will serve on the 24/7 Multiple Threat Alert Center (MTAC) Law Enforcement (LE) Desk, providing assistance to NCIS personnel and local, state, federal, and international criminal justice agencies. as well as the general public. You will work shift work, including during weekends, nights, and holidays. You will conduct databases queries, analysis, and research in support of NCIS personnel and Department of Defense/LE partners. You will provide criminal intelligence and verbal / written notification of threats and criminal activity impacting the Department of the Navy, including time sensitive and/or developing incidents. You will answer two 24-hour NCIS hotline phones. You will develop relationships with numerous law enforcement agencies and watch floor partners while collaborating to exchange information regarding a wide variety of threats to DoD. You will maintain a Watch Log to document tasks and ensure seamless transition between shifts.

Requirements

  • Must be a US Citizen.
  • Must be determined suitable for federal employment.
  • Must participate in the direct deposit pay program.

  • Within the Department of Defense (DoD), the appointment of retired military members within 180 days immediately following retirement date to a civilian position is subject to the provisions of 5 United States Code 3326.

  • Successful completion of a pre-employment drug test (including marijuana) is required. A tentative offer of employment will be rescinded if you fail to report to the drug test appointment or fail the test. You will be subject to random testing.
  • You will be required to obtain and maintain an interim and/or final security clearance prior to entrance on duty. Failure to obtain and maintain the required level of clearance may result in the withdrawal of a job offer or removal.

Qualifications

GS-09: Your resume must demonstrate at least one year of specialized experience at or equivalent to the GS-07 grade level or pay band in the Federal service or equivalent experience in the private or public sector. Specialized experience must demonstrate the following: Researching, analyzing, evaluating and coordinating highly complex criminal intelligence information; AND Conducting in-depth database checks to provide investigator and management with detailed criminal intelligence information. GS-07: Your resume must demonstrate at least one year of specialized experience at or equivalent to the GS-05 grade level or pay band in the Federal service or equivalent experience in the private or public sector. Specialized experience must demonstrate the following: Assisting with researching, analyzing, evaluating and coordinating criminal intelligence information; AND Conducting in-depth database checks. Experience refers to paid and unpaid experience, including volunteer work done through National Service programs (e.g., professional, philanthropic, religious, spiritual, community, student, social). Volunteer work helps build critical competencies, knowledge, and skills and can provide valuable training and experience that translates directly to paid employment.

1 full year of graduate level education

superior academic achievement

GS:09

master's or equivalent graduate degree

2 full years of progressively higher level graduate education leading to such a degree
