You will serve as a SUPERVISORY PROGRAM MAANGER of NCIS.
All Naval Criminal Investigative Service (NCIS) positions are in the excepted service. This position is in the excepted service and does not confer competitive status.
Duties
You will supervise, plans and directs work of subordinate personnel.
You will formulate and conduct informal training and determine formal training requirements.
You will oversee and monitor investigative reporting systems to track errors, determine types of, and reason for errors.
You will serve as primary administrative trainer for the field and subordinate offices.
You will visit and conduct onsite inspections of subordinate offices to ensure administrative functions are in compliance with policy and directives.

- This position may require travel from normal duty station to CONUS and OCONUS and may include remote or isolated sites. You must be able to travel on military and commercial aircraft for extended periods of time.
- Successful completion of a pre-employment drug test (including marijuana) is required. A tentative offer of employment will be rescinded if you fail to report to the drug test appointment or fail the test. You will be subject to random testing.
- Supervisors in the executive branch have a heightened personal responsibility for advancing government ethics. You will be required to review the 14 General Principles of Ethical Conduct at 5 CFR 2635.101.
Qualifications
GS-11: Your resume must demonstrate at least one year of specialized experience at or equivalent to the GS-09 grade level or pay band in the Federal service or equivalent experience in the private or public sector. Specialized experience must demonstrate the following:
- Planning and performing a variety of administrative and program management functions
- Providing or ensuring such services as case and records management, property management, budget-accounts tracking, timekeeping, transportation and employee travel.
- Identify, compile, extract, interpret, integrate, evaluate and apply information from a wide variety of sources, perform management and measurement assignments, report findings, draw conclusions, and solve an array of administrative and management/program analysis problems.
- Preparing administrative/program guidance, reports, letters, memos and forms, and reviewing these types of documents.
GS-09: Your resume must demonstrate at least one year of specialized experience at or equivalent to the GS-07 grade level or pay band in the Federal service or equivalent experience in the private or public sector. Specialized experience must demonstrate the following:
Providing administrative support which includes office budgeting, property management, arranging travel, data processing and files management, time and attendance issues; providing support with report writing and submitting entries into databases.
