You will serve as a SUPERVISORY POLICE OFFICER in the OPERATIONS (N3) of NAVBASE CORONADO SEC DET.
Duties
You will interview witnesses to collect information about a case.
You will plan law enforcement classroom training and drills in accordance with the training plan.
You will identify law enforcement employee development needs to verify performance goals are met.
You will conduct patrols (e.g., foot, bicycle, water) to detect and deter crime.

- Generally, current federal employees applying for GS jobs must serve at least one year at the next lower grade level. This requirement is called time-in-grade. Time-in-grade requirements must be met by the closing date of this announcement.
- You will be required to successfully complete a pre-appointment physical examination.
- You will be required to obtain and maintain a current valid United States driver's license.
- Successful completion of a pre-employment drug test (including marijuana) is required. A tentative offer of employment will be rescinded if you fail to report to the drug test appointment or pass the test. You will be subject to random testing.
- This position is considered Key/Emergency-Essential. You will be required to provide immediate and continuing support to ensure the success of combat operations or the availability of combat-essential systems.
- This position is covered by the Domestic Violence Misdemeanor Amendment (30 Sep 96) of the Gun Control Act (Lautenberg Amendment) of 1968. You will be required to sign a DD-Form-2760, Qualification to possess firearms or ammunition.
- Within the Department of Defense (DoD), the appointment of retired military members within 180 days immediately following retirement date to a civilian position is subject to the provisions of 5 United States Code 3326.

- You will be required to obtain and maintain an interim and/or final security clearance prior to entrance on duty. Failure to obtain and maintain the required level of clearance may result in the withdrawal of a job offer or removal.
- You must meet the qualifications and be certified to carry a firearm. You will need to maintain firearm proficiency.
- You will be required to wear personal protective equipment such as helmets, gloves, coveralls, glasses, goggles, respirators and safety shoes continuously for the duration of the work shift.
- You must have reached your 18th birthday prior to appointment.
- You must successfully compete designated Navy Police officers Course of instruction to meet all certification requirements, to include weapons certifications, CPR, AED, DOD and Joint Training Regulations.
- You will be required to wear a uniform and maintain appearance and grooming standards.
Qualifications

Your resume must demonstrate at least one year of Specialized experience at or equivalent to the GS-08 grade level or pay band in the Federal service or equivalent experience in the private or public sector. Specialized experience must demonstrate the following: 1) Providing guidance on law enforcement and security policies and procedures; 2) Interviewing witnesses to crimes, accidents, or security breaches to determine facts, warrant apprehension, detention, or lesser action; 3) Resolving law enforcement issues; 4) Conducting searches to compile evidence of crime/accident scenes; 5) Reviewing reports for accuracy, discrepancies, and areas of concern.(NOTE: Your answer must be supported by information in your resume.)
