This position is located in the Division of Risk Management Supervision, Princeton, IL Field office of the Federal Deposit Insurance Corporation and provides support in the area of Information Technology (IT) examinations and performs a variety of related technical, analytical, and advisory duties.

Qualifications
Qualifying experience may be obtained in the private or public sector. Experience refers to paid and unpaid experience, including volunteer work done through National Service programs (e.g. Peace Corps, AmeriCorps) and other organizations (e.g., professional; philanthropic, religious spiritual; community; student, social). Volunteer work helps build critical competencies, knowledge, and skills and can provide valuable training and experience that translates directly to paid employment. To qualify for the CG-7 level, applicants must meet one of the following:
1) BY EXPERIENCE: Applicants must have at least one year of specialized experience equivalent to the grade GS/CG-5 or above in the Federal service. Specialized experience is experience performing evaluations or review of information technology systems or applications.
IT-related experience must demonstrate each of the four competencies listed below with a minimum of one year of specialized experience at the grade GS/CG-5 level:
Attention to Detail - Is thorough when performing work and conscientious about attending to detail.
Customer Service - Works with clients and customers (that is, any individuals who use or receive the services or products that your work unit produces, including the general public, individuals who work in the agency, other agencies, or organizations outside the Government) to assess their needs, provide information or assistance, resolve their problems, or satisfy their expectations; knows about available products and services; is committed to providing quality products and services.
Oral Communication - Expresses information (for example, ideas or facts) to individuals or groups effectively, taking into account the audience and nature of the information (for example, technical, sensitive, controversial); makes clear and convincing oral presentations; listens to others , attends to nonverbal cues, and responds appropriately.
Problem Solving - Identifies problems; determines accuracy and relevance of information; uses sound judgement to generate and evaluate alternatives, and to make recommendations.
OR
2) BY EDUCATION: Applicants must complete 1 full academic year of graduate level education or meet Superior Academic Achievement (SAA) provisions and completion of a bachelor's degree in computer science, engineering, information science, information systems management, mathematics, operations research, statistics, technology management, or other related field. All academic degrees and coursework must be from accredited or pre-accredited institutions.

3) BY COMBINATION OF EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE: Applicants must possess a combination of both education and specialized experience described above that together meet the qualification requirements for this position. All academic degrees and coursework must be from accredited or pre-accredited institutions.
To qualify for the CG-9 level, applicants must meet one of the following:
1) BY EXPERIENCE: Applicants must have at least one year of specialized experience equivalent to grade GS/CG-7 or above in the Federal service. Specialized experience is experience providing IT support in safety and soundness or IT examinations at a financial institution; providing assistance with IT audits of security controls or policies of data centers or financial institutions; or providing assistance with administering information security programs or other key data center functions.
IT-related experience must demonstrate each of the four competencies listed below with a minimum of one year of specialized experience at the grade GS/CG-7 level:

2) BY EDUCATION: Applicant must possess a master's or equivalent graduate degree (such as an LL. B, or J.D., if related) or two full years of progressively higher level graduate education in computer science, engineering, information science, information systems management, mathematics, operations research, statistics, technology management, or other related field. All academic degrees and coursework must be from accredited or pre-accredited institutions.
OR
3) BY COMBINATION OF EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE: Applicants must possess a COMBINATION of graduate level education beyond the 1st full year of graduate education, and specialized experience as described above, that together meet the qualification requirements for this position. All academic degrees and coursework must be from accredited or pre-accredited institutions.
