You will serve as a INSTRUMENT MECHANIC in the Code 1422.3 Located at the Naval Foundry and Propeller Center, Philadelphia, PA, a detachment of NORFOLK NAVAL SHIPYARD.
Duties
You will assist Mechanical Instrument Calibrator in the operation of a precision tool issue and pre-check function.
You will manually inventory count of stock on hand and dailiy inventory for stock adjustment.
You will assist in documenting, recording, and filing the numerous reports and instructions that support he Measure and ATCS Systems.
You will assist Toolmakers and Instrument Mechanics in the maintenance, repair, and calibration of precision hand tools, electronic RPM indicators, laser survey and alignment equipment, and various optical tooling.
You will assist mechanic in the operation and use of standard precision measure machines associated equipment and hand tools.
You will obtain and hand mechanic work tools while assisting in the inspection, repair and calibration.
Requirements

- You will be required to successfully complete a pre-appointment physical examination.
- You will be required to obtain and maintain an interim and/or final security clearance prior to entrance on duty. Failure to obtain and maintain the required level of clearance may result in the withdrawal of a job offer or removal.
- Successful completion of a pre-employment drug test (including marijuana) is required. A tentative offer of employment will be rescinded if you fail to report to the drug test appointment or fail the test. You will be subject to random testing.
- You will be required to wear personal protective equipment such as helmets, gloves, coveralls, glasses, goggles, respirators and safety shoes continuously for the duration of the work shift.

Operating tool issue terminals in all required procedures of the Automated Tool Control System in an error free manner;
experience in inventory management and record-keeping, coupled with advanced proficiency in computer applications, particularly eFEM;
knowledge of mathematics such as algebra, geometry, and trigonometry;
experience following detailed instructions.
