You will serve as a MATERIALS HANDLER INSPECTOR in the ORDNANCE OPERATIONS DIVISION of NAVMAG INDIAN ISLAND.
Duties
You will assure the quality and safety of ordnance material and operations.
You will perform receipt and issue inspection of ordnance items and certify them as ready for issue.
You will obtain and maintain inspection and quality certifications.
You will construct, place, sheath and install wooden blocks, wedges, bracing structures, partition bulkheads, deck boxes and other staying devices.
You will determine the detail locations within storage facilities and assure proper stowage of cargo within vessels per load plan.
You will offload and onload ordnance materials from trucks, rail cars, vessels and other conveyances using forklifts, manual and mechanized pallet jacks, side loaders and stacker cranes.
Requirements

- Must be determined suitable for federal employment.

- This is a bargaining unit position.
- You will be required to possess a current "CDL Class-A" license.
- You will be required to successfully complete a pre-appointment physical examination.
- You will be required to obtain and maintain an interim and/or final security clearance prior to entrance on duty. Failure to obtain and maintain the required level of clearance may result in the withdrawal of a job offer or removal.
- This position is covered by the Domestic Violence Misdemeanor Amendment (30 Sep 96) of the Gun Control Act (Lautenberg Amendment) of 1968. You will be required to sign a DD-Form-2760, Qualification to possess firearms or ammunition.
- Successful completion of a pre-employment drug test (including marijuana) is required. A tentative offer of employment will be rescinded if you fail to report to the drug test appointment or fail the test. You will be subject to random testing.
- You will be required to wear personal protective equipment such as helmets, gloves, coveralls, glasses, goggles, respirators and safety shoes continuously for the duration of the work shift.
- This position may require travel from normal duty station to CONUS and OCONUS and may include remote or isolated sites. You must be able to travel on military and commercial aircraft for extended periods of time.
- This position requires the selectee to climb ladders and scaffolding.
- This position requires that the selectee have visual acuity and accurate color discrimination.
- This position requires the selectee to be qualified as a Quality Assurance Inspector.
- This position requires the selectee to obtain and maintain an explosives driver's license and an explosives forklift license.
- This position requires the selectee to possess a current U. S. Government Motor Vehicle Operator (MVO) Certification with a Hazardous Material Driver Endorsement.
- This position requires the selectee to participate in and complete all required training for the Explosives Qualification/Certification Program.
