About the Position: Serves as the Law Office Manager and Legal Administrator for a US Army Region/Circuit. Oversees office management operations for a trial defense regional/circuit office and multiple field offices consisting of over 20 defense counsel and paralegals focused on providing excellent client support and representation.
Duties
Serve as the principal adviser to the Regional Defense Counsel (RDC) on all matters related to Law Office Management and Operations.
Plan, program, and execute contracts in support of legal operations and special programs.
Identify personnel strength requirements, develops funding requirements, monitors case assignments, and monitors travel and equipment need.
Manage all aspects of personnel management, including continuing legal education, certification, administration, and readiness of civilian and military personnel in multiple geographic locations.
Serve as security manager for the regional field offices.
Requirements

For GS-11:
Specialized Experience: One year of specialized experience which includes: assists developing contracts for special programs; provides advice on policies and/or plans in support of legal programs; and performing administrative functions such as preparing legal documents. This definition of specialized experience is typical of work performed at the second lower grade/level position in the federal service (GS-09).
OR
Education: Ph.D or equivalent doctoral degree or 3 full years of progressively higher-level graduate education leading to such a degree or LL.M. in a field which demonstrates the knowledge, skills, and abilities necessary to do the work of the position, such as: Law.
OR
Combination of Education and Experience: A combination of education and experience may be used to qualify for this position as long as the computed percentage of the requirements is at least 100%. To compute the percentage of the requirements, divide your total months of experience by 12. Then divide the total number of completed graduate semester hours (or equivalent) beyond the second year (total graduate semester hours minus 36) by 18. Add the two percentages.
For GS-12:
Specialized Experience: One year of specialized experience which includes: administers contracts in support of programs such as legal and/or special programs; assists drafting policies and procedures in support of legal programs; and manages administrative functions such as monitoring training and logistics requirements. This definition of specialized experience is typical of work performed at the next lower grade/level position in the federal service (GS-11).
Education
