THIS IS AN ARMY NATIONAL GUARD TITLE 32 EXCEPTED SERVICE POSITION. This National Guard position is for a TITLE 32 INFORMATION SECURITY SPECIALIST (MI G3), Position Description Number NGD2477000 and is part of the MI JFHQ Army, Michigan Army National Guard.

Duties

***THIS IS A TITLE 32 NATIONAL GUARD POSITION THAT REQUIRES MILITARY MEMBERSHIP*** This position is located at the State's ARNG Intelligence and Security Office. This is an ARNG National Guard (ARNG) Dual Status Technician position requiring military membership. The purpose of this position is to serve as the Information Security (INFOSEC) Specialist and Industrial Security Program (ISP) Manager, responsible for managing the operations of the INFOSEC and ISP programs for the State ARNG. 1. As an Information Security Program Manager (ISPM) for State ARNG. Responsible for development, publication, executing/enforcing and implementation of appropriate regulation, policy, and law related to INFOSEC. 2. Maintains, accounts for, and reports the status and compliance of all secure rooms and security containers under jurisdiction of the TAG. Develop emergency destruction plan for classified and CUI as well as safeguarding procedures for hostile areas or during natural disasters. 3. Manages the INFOSEC Internal Controls Program. Executes site-wide self-inspection program. 4. Integrates on-site contractor personnel into the site INFOSEC Program, develops an effective liaison with the state ARNG contract office, site Contracting Officers (KO), site Contracting Officer Representatives (COR), as well as national level ARNG G-2, to effectively manage classified contracts and the Industrial Security Program. Reviews and provides guidance to CORs and Program Managers in the preparation of the Contract Security Classification Specification requirements. 5. Serves as the Foreign Disclosure Officer (FDO) for the State ARNG. Responsible for development, publication, executing/enforcing, and implementation of appropriate regulation, policy, and law related to foreign disclosure.

Requirements

  • This is an excepted service position that requires membership in a compatible military assignment in the Michigan Army National Guard, required prior to the effective date of placement.
  • Selectee will be required to wear the military uniform.
  • Acceptance of an excepted service position constitutes concurrence with these requirements as a condition of employment.
  • Applicants who are not currently a member of the Michigan Army National Guard must be eligible for immediate membership and employment in the Michigan Army National Guard in the military grade listed in this announcement.
  • Males born after 31 December 1959 must be registered for Selective Service.
  • Federal employment suitability as determined by a background investigation.
  • May be required to successfully complete a probationary period.
  • Participation in direct deposit is mandatory
  • Must have a valid civilian driver's license.
  • Attend the ARNG Security Manager Course within 12 months of hire.
  • Obtain the Security Fundamentals Professional Certification (SFPC) within 24 months of hire.
  • Must be able to obtain and maintain a top security clearance.

Military Grades: E7 - O3 SPECIALIZED EXPERIENCE: Months Required: 36 Experience that equipped the applicant with the particular knowledge, skills, and abilities to perform successfully the duties of the position, and that is typically in or related to the work of the position to be filled. Have knowledge in the established Department of Defense (DoD), AF, and ANG security programs. The applicant must have knowledge of AF security concepts, principles, and practices required to review, independently analyze, and resolve complex security issues that involve personnel from various functional program managers. The applicant must have knowledge of authority and Use of Force legal issues regarding conflicting local, state and federal security laws. Can use skills to control or eliminate issues; proven techniques may be adapted to eliminate or minimize high-risk situations.
