Duties
Supervises a sustainment specialist team with the responsibility for planning, organizing, coordinating, directing and integrating the work of a staff responsible for a wide range of item planning activities.
Determines parts supportability across all sources of supply for established and future shop workloads/special projects and work to mitigate potential supportability constraints.
Analyzes and reviews supportability planning documents and develops strategy to ensure necessary material is available.
Provides oversight in reviewing levels set by planning applications and making recommendations and/or adjustments on item levels for their local site as appropriate.
Resolves supportability problems that have an impact on production schedules.

Qualifications
To qualify for a Supervisory Inventory Management Specialist, your resume and supporting documentation must support:
Specialized Experience: One year of specialized experience that equipped you with the particular competencies to successfully perform the duties of the position, and that is typically in or related to the position to be filled. To qualify at the GS-12 level, applicants must possess one year of specialized experience equivalent to the GS-11 level or equivalent under other pay systems in the Federal service, military or private sector. Applicants must meet eligibility requirements including time-in-grade (General Schedule (GS) positions only), time-after-competitive appointment, minimum qualifications, and any other regulatory requirements by the cut-off/closing date of the announcement. Creditable specialized experience includes:
Working with laws, regulations, policies, and procedures applicable to supply and inventory management.
Understanding of production methods and procedures, and material requirements for the support/repair/modification of a variety of aircraft, engines and related end items.
Conducting evaluations of the demand and supply planning process.
Analyzing work that relates to managing and controlling materials and coordinating, determining and/or regulating flow of supplies.
Education
Substitution of education may not be used in lieu of specialized experience for this grade level.
