AREA(S) OF CONSIDERATION:
Area 1: All currently employed full-time permanent and indefinite personnel of the Connecticut Army National Guard.
Area 2: All currently employed full-time temporary technician personnel and all current traditional members of the Connecticut Army National Guard.
Duties
This is an indefinite position that may convert to permanent without further competition.
Position to be filled upon the vacancy of the incumbent.
JOB SUMMARY: The primary purpose of this position is to provide support to Automated Logistics Information Systems and Programs to all state activities/organizations and perform a wide range of specialized methods/techniques for planning; analyzing and identifying problems in order to develop and implement resolutions to administrative and systemic programs throughout the organization.
NATIONAL GUARD MEMBERSHIP IS REQUIRED. This is an excepted position that requires membership in a compatible military assignment in the Connecticut Army National Guard.
The major duties include, but are not limited to:
Serves as an advisor to the Supervisory Logistics Management Specialist on all Combat Service Support (CSS) Automated Logistics Information Systems and Programs.
Serves as a Systems Administrator for all Automated Logistics Information Systems and Programs and as the technical expert within the state/territory responsible for providing technical and functional guidance for serviced Automated Logistics Information Systems and Programs.
Serves as the primary point of contact for Functional Administrators and users of the serviced database(s).
Analyzes requirements, establishes programs/procedures ensuring effective coordination on CSS automation hardware systems and peripherals pertaining to the receipt, distribution, installation, and life cycle management of devices that are directed to be managed at unit/state level.
Serves as the primary point of contact on all CSS automation continuity of operations plan (COOP), development, and execution.
Requirements

- Must be able to obtain and maintain a secret security clearance.
Qualifications
GENERAL EXPERIENCE: Experience, education or training involving judgment and/or analytical ability in the logistics field. Experience using computer and automation systems.
SPECIALIZED EXPERIENCE: Your resume and any other supporting documentation you wish to provide must clearly substantiate you currently possess 36 months of specialized experience in the following:
Experience, education, or training identifying activities involving logistical support operations.
Experience integrating the actions of a variety of specialized support activities in order to develop a comprehensive logistics plan.
Experience monitoring such functions as program planning, resource and fiscal management, training, manpower management, and/or automated data processing to meet the logistics plan.
Experience identifying delays or problems and developing corrective actions.
Experience working with people from various levels and backgrounds to elicit their cooperation to perform specific tasks, and complying with regulations, laws, or practices.
KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS AND ABILITIES:
Knowledge and understanding of automated logistics system policies, procedures and regulations to ensure automated logistics plans and programs conform to established requirements, guidelines and support overall mission effectiveness.
Knowledge of the organizations mission, supply, maintenance, operations and transportation functions to the development and implementation of unit automated logistics programs.
Ability to ensure the availability of equipment, materials, and personnel to accomplish mission goals or objectives and applies analytical skills to the identification, analysis and resolution of automated logistics problems or deficiencies, thereby, increasing program effectiveness and efficiency.
COMPATIBLE MILITARY ASSIGNMENT: All applications will be considered regardless of Branch/AOC/FA/MOS. Incumbent will be required to be assigned to compatible military position within 1 year of selection. The selected individual may be required to attend formal technician school training.
MILITARY GRADE (Prior to Appointment): Warrant: WO1 through CW3 (includes those eligible for WO1); Enlisted: E-5 through E-8

SPECIAL REQUIREMENTS: This position requires a security clearance (secret) which the applicant must possess or be able to obtain a clearance within one year of appointment.
CONDITION OF EMPLOYMENT: Training at the National Guard Professional Education Center (NGPEC) is a mandatory condition of employment, subject to availability of resources. NGB prescribed courses at NGPEC must be completed within 6 months of assignment to this position. Failure to complete course(s) may result in reassignment or termination of full-time employment unless extenuating circumstances preclude course attendance.
