About the Position: This position is located with the Directorate of Plans, Training, Mobilization and Security - Range Branch, Operations, Fort Campbell, KY. Fort Campbell lies on the Kentucky/Tennessee border between Hopkinsville, KY & Clarksville, TN about 45 miles NW of Nashville.

Duties

Perform a variety of direct level support electrical repair functions at field or shop locations. Troubleshoot electrical systems and related equipment. Complete repairs on a variety of complex electrical systems and equipment. Interpret technical specifications, schematics, blueprints, and engineering drawings. Use test equipment to troubleshoot malfunctions at the lowest circuit element on single or multiple layer printed circuit boards. Provide technical advice and assistance to employees who are performing diagnostics on simple components.

Requirements

• Appointment may be subject to a suitability or fitness determination, as determined by a completed background investigation.
• Must posses and maintain a valid driver license.
• Incumbent is required to wear and/or use protective clothing and equipment in accordance with established health and safety regulations and SOP's.
• Incumbent may be required to enter an established impact areas to repair/overhaul/modify targets and accessories.
• Position requires frequent lifting over 50lbs.
• Incumbent may be required to work nonstandard duty hours (e.g., shifts, weekends, holidays, overtime-both scheduled and unscheduled, and, is subject to recall 24 hours a day, seven days a week in case of emergency or to support range operations.

They frequently lift and carry, unassisted, items that weigh up to 50 pounds. They are sometimes required to lift and move heavier items with the help of weight handling equipment or with assistance from other workers. WORKING CONDITIONS: Electrical equipment workers typically work in well lighted, heated, and ventilated areas. They are subject to cuts, burns, chemical irritations, strains, electrical shock, and abrasions while repairing and handling equipment. They are exposed to unpleasant conditions from dirt, solvents, fuel, fumes, oil, and grease. They follow prescribed safety practices and use safety equipment such as ear plugs, face shields, gloves, hard hats, glasses, and safety shoes. Employee also works outside in all types of environmental conditions (heat, cold temperatures, rain, snow, dust, etc.) occasionally involves work around ammunition and explosives. Stands on concrete floors and works on ranges in rough terrain. Exposed to dangers of live fire ranges, pyrotechnics, laser frequencies and explosives.
