Duties

The role of this position is to perform a wide variety of procedural and substantive administrative military personnel support associated with all aspects of military human resources pertaining to civilian and military at Base Cape Cod.Being a Coast Guard civilian makes you a valuable member of the Coast Guard team. Typical work assignments include:* Administering work orders in the Maximo system.* Responding to a wide variety to telephonic, in-person and written inquiries. * Processing and maintaining preventative maintenance schedules and monitoring completion rates.* Operating office automation equipment and word processing/database software.* Providing work order status and completion reports.

Requirements

  • U.S. Citizenship is required.
  • Males born after 12/31/1959 must be registered for Selective Service.
  • Must be able to type at least 40 words per minute.
  • The position requires a valid state driver's license.

Qualifications

GS-5: Applicants must possess one year of specialized experience equivalent to the GS-04 level. Specialized experience is experience that has equipped you with the particular knowledge, skills, and ability to successfully perform the duties of this position and is typically in or related to this line work. Examples of specialized experience include: Using different and unrelated processes, analyzing factual data, identifying the nature and scope of problems and issues, and determining the proper action from among many possible options; performing duties in a variety of areas of military human resources management to include processing actions, identification documents, electronic transactions; the in/out processing of soldiers and maintenance of military personnel records.  OR at least one of the following if using education to qualify at this grade level: (A) Successfully completed (4 years above high school) education above the high school level in any field for which high school graduation or the equivalent is the normal prerequisite is creditable; OR (B)  A combination of specialized experience equivalent to the GS-04 level in or related to the work of this position AND only education in excess of the first 60 semester hours (i.e., beyond the second year) is creditable toward meeting the specialized experience requirement. One full academic year of study (30 semester hours) beyond the second year is equivalent to 6 months of specialized experience. Experience and education combinations are computed by first determining the total qualifying experience as a percentage of the experience required for the grade level; then determining the total of qualifying education as a percentage of the education required for the grade level; and then adding the two percentages. The total percentages must equal at least 100 percent to qualify at that grade level. **In addition to meeting experience or education requirements, applicants must possess a 40 words per minute typing speed.**
