The National Intelligence University (NIU) is the Intelligence Community's sole accredited, federal degree-granting institution. It serves as the intellectual hub for the intelligence profession, preparing today's leaders for tomorrow's challenges.
Duties
Serves as a faculty member at the National Intelligence University, teaching courses in the Information and Influence Intelligence (I3) concentration as well as core intelligence courses in the Oettinger School of Science and Technology Intelligence in strong collaboration with Program Directors, faculty colleagues, and the Dean.
Teaches courses in Information and Influence Intelligence, to include those involving basic and advanced denial and deception, information power and strategy, information warfare/operations, psychology of information, persuasion and influence, media effects, propaganda, and similar topical areas.
Performs research in his/her field of expertise, and will serve as a graduate project advisor/reader to students working in the I3 discipline. Implements and enforces appropriate learning standards and rigor, and uses outcome assessment data for course curricular, and program improvement.
Develops a rich learning environment through Blackboard instructional technology. Represents the University at ODNI, IC agency meetings, conferences and symposia related to expertise, and maintains active liaison with government and private sector civilian, military, educational individuals associated with intelligence.
Duties also include participation in relevant NIU and IC communities of interest, university committees and working groups, as well as outreach to other IC, USG organizations and academia as appropriate.

- Appointment is subject to a suitability or fitness determination, as determined by a completed background investigation.
- Must be able to obtain and maintain a Top Secret security clearance based on an SBI with eligibility for sensitive compartmented information (SCI)
- Male applicants born after December 31, 1959, must complete a Pre-Employment Certification Statement for Selective Service Registration.
- A two-year trial period is required for all new permanent appointments to the ODNI.
Qualifications
Successful completion of a full course of study in an accredited college or university leading to a Master's Degree or higher that included or was supplemented by major study or experience in an academic field appropriate to this position's requirements, such as Communication, Intelligence Studies, Strategic Communication, Public Diplomacy, Political Science, Behavioral or Social Psychology, Journalism, or History.
Expert knowledge and experience applying the concepts, tools, and methodologies of information power, including information operations, friendly and adversary influence campaigns, denial and deception, communications media and propaganda, strategic communication, public diplomacy, or other experience related to information power and influence intelligence.
Expert knowledge of adversary/foreign information strategies and operations and influence campaigns, propaganda/disinformation, and foreign denial and deception strategies, tactics and equipment capabilities.
Expert oral and written communication skills, including the ability to communicate complex information in a clear, concise manner that is targeted to, and meets the needs of, diverse audiences with different perspectives and objectives.
Expert experience working in or with the intelligence community evaluating or preparing all-source analytical intelligence reports for senior US government decision makers.
Interpersonal, organizational, and problem-solving skills, including the ability to work effectively both independently and in a team or collaborative environment; ability to carry out mission responsibilities with little to no supervisor guidance.

Successful completion of a full course of study in an accredited college or university leading to a Doctor of Philosophy or other Terminal Degree focused on, or supplemented by, major study or experience in an academic field appropriate to this position's requirements, such as Communication, Intelligence Studies, Strategic Communication, Public Diplomacy, Political Science, Behavioral or Social Psychology, Journalism, or History.
Experience with Intelligence Community operations, collection, analysis, or applications, including military intelligence operations and specific intelligence support to information activities.
Expert graduate level teaching experience.
Expert experience in academic research and scholarship, writing and reviewing research papers.
Expert use of assessment data for continuous curriculum and program improvement.
