You will serve as a Project Transportation Coordinator in the Inactive Fleet, Reactor Compartment Disposal and Recycling (IRR) division of the Operations Department (Code 350) of PSNS and IMF.
Duties
You will determine types of transportation equipment needed to support scheduled production work activities.
You will determine placement and movement of resources throughout all work areas to maximize efficiency and minimize repetitive movements.
You will function as the Weigh Master at the Puget Sound Naval Shipyard (PSNS) Scale House.
You will be is responsible for the overall management and coordination of scrap byproduct sales.
You will monitor awarded contracts to identify potential shortfalls for the Shipyard to meet contractual obligations.
You will coordinate scrap metal contractors and buyers visits for material removal and pre-sale inspections.
You will plan and estimate short and long-term transportation equipment and personnel needs based on surveillance of work in progress, dock schedules, project estimates, experience and historical data.
You will ensure that transportation equipment meets any special conditions required for certain controlled materials such as certifications, weight restrictions, or special handling and containment.
You will identify needs for additional resources to meet production schedules.
Requirements

- You will be required to obtain and maintain an interim and/or final security clearance prior to entrance on duty. Failure to obtain and maintain the required level of clearance may result in the withdrawal of a job offer or removal.
- You will be required to wear personal protective equipment such as helmets, gloves, coveralls, glasses, goggles, respirators and safety shoes continuously for the duration of the work shift.
- Work is performed in areas where potentially harmful physical and chemical agents are present (e.g. fumes, dust, heat, ionizing and non-ionizing radiation and chemicals). You will be required to participate in medical surveillance programs.
Qualifications
Your resume must demonstrate at least one year of specialized experience at or equivalent to the GS-09 grade level or pay band in the Federal service or equivalent experience in the private or public sector. Specialized experience must demonstrate the following: analyzing and evaluating transportation management functions and techniques to identify, review, and resolve issues related to requirements for coordinating transportation support and disposition of materials in an industrial environment.

Education
In lieu of specialized experience, you may qualify with the following education or combination of both education and experience:
Successfully completed a Ph.D. or equivalent doctoral degree with a major study in accounting, business administration, business or commercial law, commerce, economics, engineering, finance, industrial management, statistics, traffic management, transportation, motor mechanics, or other fields related to the position.
OR
Successfully completed three full years of progressively higher level graduate education leading to a Ph.D. or equivalent degree with a major study in accounting, business administration, business or commercial law, commerce, economics, engineering, finance, industrial management, statistics, traffic management, transportation, motor mechanics, or other fields related to the position.
OR
Successfully completed an LL.M. degree that is related to the position being filled.

Have a combination of experience and graduate education as described above that equates to one year of experience. The percentage of the required education plus the percentage of the required experience equal one hundred percent.
