A successful candidate in the Surveyor Technician position within the Geomatics will provide surveying and mapping services for various BPA missions and programs. Both office and field duties are required to carry out the planning, direction, and performance of land surveys.

- Must be a U.S. Citizen or National.

- May be required to successfully complete a probationary period.
- This position does not support remote work. You will be required to report physically to the official reporting worksite as specified by the supervisor, but no less than 3 days per pay period
- This position requires a valid driver's license as a condition of employment.
- Participate in emergency responses after hours and on weekends to support emergency construction exercises due to transmission line outages, access road blockage, and other emergencies.
- Energized Facility Permit is required within 90 days of assignment start. Type: Substation Entry Permit.

Qualifications
SPECIALIZED EXPERIENCE REQUIREMENTS: A qualified candidate's online application and resume must demonstrate at least one year of specialized experience equivalent to the next lower grade level GS-10 in the Federal service. Specialized experience for this position is defined as: Applying technical land surveying and mapping principles, methods, instruments, and procedures, including surveying and mapping technologies to 1) measure or determine distances, elevations, areas, land boundaries, or other land features to produce field-to-finish mapping products and 2) research legal records and previous boundaries to determine boundary locations and record survey results, verify data accuracy, prepare plots, maps, and reports for assigned projects.

You will receive credit for all qualifying experience, including volunteer experience.
