About the Position: Serves as Logistics Management Specialist dealing with logistics programs applicable to the U.S. Army Recruiting Command (USAREC). Responsible for planning logistics and transportation programs, developing guidance in the form of policies and procedures to execute logistics programs across a widely dispersed command.

Duties

Oversees the Command Supply Discipline Program (CSDP). Implements, directs, and executes operational plans and policies for the command. Serves as a staff Action Officer providing logistical planning, analysis, guidance, and staff studies in support of command operations. Manages various logistics programs for the command, including the vehicle program and Command Supply Discipline Program. Reviews the concepts, plans, doctrine, policies and techniques necessary to support supply activities command-wide Serves as the program manager for the USAREC vehicle fleet of more than 8,000 vehicles. Ensure the most efficient passenger, freight, personal property, and small package transportation services are utilized at the most economical cost.

Specialized Experience: One year of specialized experience which includes solving complex issues that negatively impact logistic activities; assisting in development of policies to execute logistics programs; gathering data to determine the overall effectiveness of logistics programs; Utilizing transportation program policies to support the overall mission. This definition of specialized experience is typical of work performed at the second lower grade/level position in the federal service (GS-09). OR Education: Ph.D. or equivalent doctoral degree or 3 full years of progressively higher level graduate education leading to such a degree or LL.M. in a field which demonstrates the knowledge, skills, and abilities necessary to do the work of the position, such as: Logistics, Advanced Supply Chain Management, Business Law, and Service Management. OR Combination of Education and Experience: A combination of education and experience may be used to qualify for this position as long as the computed percentage of the requirements is at least 100%. To compute the percentage of the requirements, divide your total months of experience by 12. Then divide the total number of completed graduate semester hours (or equivalent) beyond the second year (total graduate semester hours minus 36) by 18. Add the two percentages. You will be evaluated on the basis of your level of competency in the following areas: Organizational AwarenessPlanning and EvaluatingSupport EquipmentTransportation Time in Grade Requirement: Applicants who have held a General Schedule (GS) position within the last 52 weeks must have 52 weeks of Federal service at the next lower grade or equivalent (GS-09).
