This position is located in McCall, ID on the Payette National Forest.
Fulltime seasonal 18/8 position working in the Fire Cache performing materials handling and forklift duties, in addition leads and mentors permanent and temporary employees assigned to achieve materials handling for the unit.

Duties
Lead and mentor employees on materials handling process ensuring that material, tools, are available, and that needed stock is obtained from supply locations.
Select designated items for storage, build and assemble kits for storage and shipment per National standards or specifications.
Perform a variety of duties involved in packing for shipment or storage of special operation materials or equipment, including bulky, large, heavy items, or items of a sensitive or pilferable nature.
Receive returned equipment from emergency incidents, prepare documentation for return credit to the incident to which material was issued.
Coordinate and perform appropriate repairs and/or initiate service or testing to render equipment ready for issue.
Inspect and classify equipment and properly dispose unserviceable surveyed supplies and equipment.
Operate electric, gasoline, and propane powered forklift trucks capable of lifting loads up to and including 6,000 pounds to a height of 144 inches.
Leads three or more workers performing nonsupervisory work at the WG-5 level on a regular and recurring basis.
Requirements
- Must be a U.S. Citizen or National.
- Males born after 12/31/1959 must be Selective Service registered or exempt.
- Subject to satisfactory adjudication of background investigation and/or fingerprint check.
- Successful completion of one year probationary period, unless previously served.
- Per Public Law 104-134 all Federal employees are required to have federal payments made by direct deposit to their financial institution.

- Must possess and maintain a valid commercial driver's license (CDL).
- Must possess and maintain a valid driver's license.
- Must be able to attain and maintain HAZMAT handling and transportation certification in accordance with CFR 49 regulations.
- Must possess and be able to obtain a forklift operator certification in accordance with OSHA standards and be able to pass an operators test within the first 60 days in this position.
- This is a drug testing designated position. You will be subject to pre-employment and random drug testing. Appointment is based on a negative result. This announcement constitutes 30 days advance notice.

Additional Requirements:
Commercial Driver's License: Must have and maintain a Commercial Driver's license (CDL)
Drug Testing: Applicants must acknowledge the requirement to submit to urinalysis to screen for illegal drug use unless they currently occupy a testing designated position (TDP) under the Department of Transportation (DOT)/Forest Service Alcohol and Controlled Substances Testing Program.
