About the Position:This position is located at Army Tank-Automotive and Armament Command (TACOM), Legal Office.
This position will be filled permanent.
This position will be filled at the GS-09 or GS-11 level. If selected at the GS-09 level, noncompetitive promotion to the full performance level is authorized.
Duties
Provide the primary administrative and management support to the organization by independently planning, performing, and coordinating all functions necessary for efficient and effective operation.
Analyze and review inquiries to support organization mission and functions.
Provide relevant information and corresponding forms/documents.
Coordinate confidential legal matters related to the organization’s mission and function, and provides information to all stakeholders.
Assist the Chief Counsel’s Legal Administrative Specialist in the submission and tracking of personnel actions and in the periodic review of unofficial civilian employee record files.
Serve as training/travel coordinator and property officer for the organization.
Perform timekeeping functions for the organization.
These duties are described at the full performance level GS-11. The GS-09 grades is developmental leading to such performance.
Requirements
- Appointment may be subject to a suitability or fitness determination, as determined by a completed background investigation.
- This position requires the able to obtain and maintain a Secret (Tier 3) security clearance.

GS-09 LEVEL:
Specialized Experience Required at the GS-09 level: To qualify based on your work experience, your resume must describe at least one year of experience which prepared you to do the work in this job. Specialized experience is defined as experience that is typically in or related to the work of the position to be filled such as: Assisting in administrative functions, following organizational procedures, to include phone calls, visitors, and scheduling appointments; Preparing travel vouchers and orders utilizing computer travel system; Perform timekeeping functions to include extracts, summarizes, and analyzes time and attendance for the organization; and Utilizing a wide range of office automation software (including advanced word processing features similar to desktop publishing; graphics; databases; and spreadsheets) in the accomplishment of day-to-day duties. This definition of specialized experience is typical of work performed at the next lower grade/level position in the federal service (GS-07).

Educational Substitution for Specialized Experience for GS-09: Master's or equivalent graduate degree or 2 full years of progressively higher level graduate education leading to such a degree in a field which demonstrates the knowledge, skills, and abilities necessary to do the work of the position. (Must attach a copy of your transcripts).

Combination of Experience and Education Substitution for Specialized Experience for GS-09: A combination of education and experience may be used to qualify for this position as long as the computed percentage of the requirements is at least 100%. To compute the percentage of the requirements, divide your total months of experience by 12. Then divide the total number of completed graduate semester hours (or equivalent) beyond the first year (total graduate semester hours minus 18) by 18. Add the two percentages to equal 100%. (Must attach a copy of your transcripts).
GS-11 LEVEL:
Specialized Experience Required at the GS-11 level: To qualify based on your work experience, your resume must describe at least one year of experience which prepared you to do the work in this job. Specialized experience is defined as experience that is typically in or related to the work of the position to be filled, such as: tracking actions that are under legal review to facilitate timely responses with redacting documents; identifying training requirements for the activity's overall training plan to meet mission requirements; applying proper grammar, punctuation, and spelling concerning formal correspondence within directorate, Army and/or other DoD agencies to ensure regulatory compliance; and researching policies, directives, and regulatory guidance pertaining to all administrative matters in order to be aware of new, revised, or amended procedures. This definition of specialized experience is typical of work performed at the next lower grade/level position in the federal service (GS-09).

Education Substitution for Specialized Experience for GS-11: Ph.D or equivalent doctoral degree or 3 full years of progressively higher level graduate education leading to such a degree or LL.M. in a field which demonstrates the knowledge, skills, and abilities necessary to do the work of the position. (Must attach a copy of your transcripts)
OR
Combination of Experience and Education Substitution for Specialized Experience for GS-11: A combination of education and experience may be used to qualify for this position as long as the computed percentage of the requirements is at least 100%. To compute the percentage of the requirements, divide your total months of experience by 12. Then divide the total number of completed graduate semester hours (or equivalent) beyond the second year (total graduate semester hours minus 36) by 18. Add the two percentages to equal 100%. Time in Grade Requirement: Applicants who have held a General Schedule (GS) position within the last 52 weeks must have 52 weeks of Federal service at the next lower grade or equivalent:
-For the GS-09, must have 52 weeks at the GS-07 (or equivalent)
-For the GS-11, must have 52 weeks at the GS-09 (or equivalent)
