Duties

You will serve as an Antenna Mechanic Helper with Antenna DIV, NCTAMS PAC DET Puget Sound, NAVRADSTA T JIM CREEK in Oso, Washington. You will assist with maintaining approximately 587 acres of cleared antenna field under energized antenna spans. You will assist journeyman antenna mechanic, electrician and/ or work leader when tasked with limited electrical work. You will ensure shop spaces, storage facilities, vehicles, tools, and equipment are safe, organized, cleaned, and properly maintained. You will assist with inspecting rigging gear, weight handling equipment, wire rope reeling devices, winch systems, aerial span conductors, and sockets.

Requirements

  • Must be a US Citizen.
  • Must be determined suitable for federal employment.

  • This position may require travel from normal duty station to CONUS and OCONUS and may include remote or isolated sites. You must be able to travel on military and commercial aircraft for extended periods of time.
  • You will be required to obtain and maintain a current valid United States driver’s license.

The Screen-out Element for this position is: THE ABILITY TO WORK WITHOUT MORE THAN NORMAL SUPERVISION such as: Experience reading and interpreting blueprints, circuit diagrams, programmable logic circuitry, technical equipment maintenance and operations manuals, and specifications. Experience using a wide variety or electronic test instruments. Experience using hand tools including screwdrivers, wrenches, pliers, drills, taps, dies, wire strippers, soldering irons, solder pots, heat sinks, and solder extractors.
