About the Position: This position is located at JBLM, Director of Referral Management Managed Care, Tacoma, Washington.
Duties
Receive incoming correspondence, screening material for suspense dates, establishing controls and following up for the Deputy Commander.
Compose military letters of appreciation, commendation, and recommendation; and various nonmilitary, correspondence.
Act as liaison between supervisor and subordinate staff or other offices.
Provide administrative and clerical support to Residents in the Masters of Health Care Administration Program.
Receive and screen visitors and phone calls to the office.
Operate a personal computer to input, store, retrieve and manipulate data.
Provide computer graphic support and technical expertise to the C/S, Commanding General and Command Group Staff.
Requirements
- Appointment may be subject to a suitability or fitness determination, as determined by a completed background investigation.
- This position has a mandatory seasonal influenza vaccination requirement and is subject to annual vaccination.
- This position requires immunization screening to determine inoculation for Measles, Mumps and Rubella (MMR), Tetanus, Diphtheria and Pertussis (Tdap), Hepatitis B series, Chickenpox titer and skin test screening for Tuberculosis (TB).
- This position May be subject to completion of a personnel General Inquiry In DEERS (GQID)/ Tier 3,IT 2, non critical sensitive level background investigation for the purpose of accessing DefenseEnrollment Eligibility Reporting System (DEERS)
- A Personnel Security Investigation is required.

To Qualify for the GS-07: Specialized Experience: One year of specialized experience which includes reviewing referrals for completeness, accuracy, and compliance with regional referral business rules, covered benefits, and pre-authorization/pre-certification requirements prior to processing AND experience utilizing an Electronic Health Record (EHR) database or similar program. This definition of specialized experience is typical of work performed at the next lower grade/level position in the federal service (GS-06).

Education: One full year of graduate level education in a field which demonstrates the knowledge, skills, and abilities necessary to do the work of the position, such as Healthcare Administration or Healthcare Management.
OR
Combination of Education and Experience: A combination of education and experience may be used to qualify for this position as long as the computed percentage of the requirements is at least 100%. To compute the percentage of the requirements, divide your total months of experience by 12. Then divide the total number of completed graduate semester hours (or equivalent) by 18. Add the two percentages.
Time in Grade Requirement for the GS-07: Applicants who have held a General Schedule (GS) position within the last 52 weeks must have 52 weeks of Federal service at the next lower grade or equivalent (GS-06).
To Qualify for the GS-06: Specialized Experience: One year of specialized experience which includes receiving, investigating, processing, or providing feedback on telephonic or walk-in inquiries concerning medical care provided to beneficiaries through civilian health care facilities or providers. This definition of specialized experience is typical of work performed at the next lower grade/level position in the federal service (GS-05).

Education: A half year (i.e., 9 semester hours) of graduate level education in a field which demonstrates the knowledge, skills, and abilities necessary to do the work of the position, such as Healthcare Administration or Healthcare Management.
OR
Combination of Education and Experience: A combination of education and experience may be used to qualify for this position as long as the computed percentage of the requirements is at least 100%. To compute the percentage of the requirements, divide your total months of experience by 12. Then divide the total number of completed graduate semester hours (or equivalent) by 9. Add the two percentages.
