Duties
Provides a variety of Quality Assurance advice, liaison, and coordination on assigned Engineering Technical Management (ETM) Team supporting assigned area of responsibility (AOR) which include Focal Point, Captains of Industry, and Sourcing.
Participates in planning, developing recommendations, organizing and implementing a comprehensive quality assurance program in assigned ETM team/AOR.
Coordinates with the DoD services on assigned programs, policies and systems to develop an effective logistics program in support of aircraft and support equipment, engines, etc.
Identifies, analyzes, implements, coordinates, and monitors program improvements for technical and quality issues impacting customer operations.
Develops projects and work methods to standardize processes and to provide consistent technical review and evaluation for quality assurance issues related to acquisition/supply.
Conducts special projects/studies involving persistent, widespread systemic and/or critical technical quality (TQ) related problems.

Qualifications
To qualify for a Quality Assurance Specialist (Aircraft), your resume and supporting documentation must support:
Specialized Experience: One year of specialized experience that equipped you with the particular competencies to successfully perform the duties of the position, and that is typically in or related to the position to be filled. To qualify at the GS-12 level, applicants must possess one year of specialized experience equivalent to the GS-11 level or equivalent under other pay systems in the Federal service, military or private sector. Applicants must meet eligibility requirements including time-in-grade (General Schedule (GS) positions only), time-after-competitive appointment, minimum qualifications, and any other regulatory requirements by the cut-off/closing date of the announcement. Creditable specialized experience includes:
- Experience working with contract quality assurance and aircraft commodities
- Interpreting/applying quality assurance requirements contained in the procurement process
- Developing/preparing technical/quality criteria using qualitative and/or quantitative methods
- Conducting studies and investigations to analyze and resolve critical quality related problems
- Analyzing quality data to detect unsatisfactory trends or weaknesses in the quality system

Education
Substitution of education may not be used in lieu of specialized experience for this grade level.
