About the Position: This position is in the Defense Civilian Intelligence Personnel System (DCIPS). Employees occupying DCIPS positions are in the Excepted Service and must adhere to U.S. Code, Title 10, as well as Department of Defense Instruction 1400.25.

Duties

Monitors counterintelligence and security plans for compliance of security program requirements. Provides multi-discipline security support in foreign disclosure, automated information systems, operations, communications, personnel, industrial, and automation security and Transient Electromagnetic Pulse Emanations Standard (TEMPEST). Develops and implements a multi-disciplined security countermeasures program to protect collateral and/or classified information. Provides advice and guidance on protection of classified information to supported organizations. Develops security plans and procedures for safeguarding classified information. Coordinates and conduct security inspections, investigations, inquiries, and assistance visits.

Requirements

  • Appointment may be subject to a suitability or fitness determination, as determined by a completed background investigation.
  • Two year trial/probationary period may be required.
  • In accordance with Change 3 to AR 600-85, Alcohol and Drug Abuse Prevention and Control Program, individual must successfully pass a urinalysis screening for illegal drug use prior to appointment and periodically thereafter.
  • Must be able to obtain and maintain a Top-Secret security clearance based on a T5 (or equivalent level) investigation with eligibility for sensitive compartmented information (SCI).
  • Temporary duty (TDY) travel may be required 25% or less of the time.

Specialized experience is defined as experience providing multi-discipline security support to an organization or program protecting collateral or classified information, conducting routine security inspections and making recommendations for corrective action, and developing security plans for safeguarding classified information.This definition of specialized experience is typical of work performed at the next lower grade/level position in the federal service (GG/GS-11). You will be evaluated on the basis of your level of competency in the following areas: Program SecuritySecurity Tools and MethodsVulnerabilities Assessment and Management Specialized experience is progressively responsible intelligence-related security work directly related to the position being filled. Creditable experience may include previous military experience, experience gained in the private sector or in another government agency as long as it was at a level at least equivalent to the next lower band in the series.
