This position is located in the Department of Homeland Security, United States Coast Guard, Force Readiness Command, Aviation Training Center, Training Department, Flight Training Systems Division in Mobile, AL.
Duties
The purpose of this position is to conduct planning, developing, implementing, and reviewing of resident training and distance learning material.Being a Coast Guard civilian makes you a valuable member of the Coast Guard team. Typical work assignments include:

Qualifications
Qualifications for GS-9:
At least 1 year of specialized experience equivalent to at least the GS-7 grade level.
Specialized experience is experience that has equipped you with the particular ability, skill, and knowledge to successfully perform the duties of this position and is typically in or related to this line of work.
Examples include:
Instructing students in fitness and wellness including strength/circuit training, health, physical readiness and/or aquatics classes.
Lecturing, leading discussions and demonstrating competence in the field of health/fitness or aquatics/physical education.
Providing wellness instruction and counseling.
Instructing courses that are well structured and have plenty of training materials.
Or
Master's or equivalent graduate degree.
Or
2 full years of progressively higher level graduate education leading to such a degree.
Or
LL.B. or J.D., if related.
Equivalent combinations of education and experience are qualifying for the GS-9 grade level.
National Service Experience (i.e., volunteer experience): Experience refers to paid and unpaid experience, including volunteer work done through National Service programs (e.g., Peace Corps, AmeriCorps) and other organizations (e.g., professional; philanthropic; religious; spiritual; community, student, social). Volunteer work helps build critical competencies, knowledge, and skills and can provide valuable training and experience that translates directly to paid employment. You will receive credit for all qualifying experience, including volunteer experience.
The Office of Personnel management (OPM) must authorize employment offers made to current or former political appointees.
