You will serve as a DEPUTY FIRE CHIEF in the NAVY FIRE & EMERGENCY SERVICES (F&ES) of NB CORONADO.

Duties

You will serve as a senior authority and advisor for fire protection for the installation. You will assess and formulate operating expenditures including staffing requirements. You will Interpret new fire protection requirements and recommend the adoption or implementation of applicable policies and procedures. You will direct and Interpret new fire protection requirements and recommend the adoption or implementation of applicable policies and procedures. You will prepare fire protection policies for the installation and promulgate directives governing fire protection matters.

Qualifications

Your resume must demonstrate at least one year of specialized experience equivalent to the next lower grade level (GS-11) or pay band in the federal service or equivalent experience in the private or public sector performing the following duties: 1) Managing and directing fire department operations involving structural, shipboard, crash/rescue, wildland, as well as operations involving toxic materials, Weapons of Mass Destruction (WMD), nuclear, and conventional ordnance; 2) Utilizing the latest technical developments in fire prevention and protection to achieve and maintain operational readiness with minimal manpower to accomplish the overall fire protection mission; 3) Evaluating the technical adequacy of all fire protection and life safety features; and 4) Conducting investigations of fires to determine cause. NOTE: This experience must be supported by your resume. ***This position requires the incumbent to possess the following certifications: Firefighter I and II, Airport, HAZMAT Technician, HAZMAT Incident Commander, Fire Officer IV, Fire Inspector II, and Fire Instructor II. These certifications must have been awarded by DoD, IFSAC or ProBoard to meet the requirement.
