You will serve as an EMERGENCY MANAGEMENT SPECIALIST of JOINT EXPED BASE LITTLE CREEK FT STORY.

Duties

You will assess an emergency management program to determine enhancements and improvements that can be made to reduce the potential for loss of life and property. You will conduct emergency management training to establish personnel are prepared and certified in incident command systems. You will manage an Emergency Operations Center (EOC) during natural or man-made disasters to coordinate efforts and service delivery with local and federal agencies. You will maintain an inventory to deploy resources in support of emergency management response and recovery operations.

  • This is a Mission Essential position. You will be required to ensure organization or facility continuity of operations and/or completion of tasks that are considered essential to the mission designated by a local or command decision.

Qualifications

Your resume must demonstrate at least one year of specialized experience at or equivalent to the GS-07 grade level or pay band in the Federal service or equivalent experience in the private or public sector. Specialized experience must demonstrate the following: (1) Assists with development of an Installation Emergency Management (EM) Plan; (2) Manage Emergency Operations Center (EOC) operations, equipment and software, Incident Command/Incident Management System, CBRN, Nuclear threats and response procedures; (3) Analyze and evaluate methods and techniques and present recommendations for improving emergency response capabilities; (4) Manage short term and long range problem solving; (5) Conducts analyses of EM incidents and work processes that includes real world and/or man- made events; (6) Work independently during disasters, emergencies, conferences, briefings and normal day-to-day situations. Education

In lieu of specialized experience, you may qualify with the following education or combination of both education and experience:

Successful completion of a master's or equivalent graduate degree
OR
Successful completion of two full years of progressively higher level graduate education leading to a master's degree
OR

A combination of experience and graduate education as described above that equates to one year of experience.
