You will serve as a Medical Program Specialist in a Federal Motor Carrier Safety Administration (FMCSA) Service Center.

Qualifications

To meet the minimum qualifications for this position, you must meet the specialized experience qualifications for the grade at which you are requesting consideration.To qualify for the Grade 12, you must have at least one year of experience equal or equivalent to the GS-11 it must include: Experience in applying and interpreting the Federal Motor Carrier Safety and Commercial Driver’s License Regulations. Experience in researching and analyzing medical documentation and applying analytical, fact-finding and problem-solving techniques. To qualify for the Grade 13, you must have at least one year of experience equal or equivalent to the GS-12, it must include: Experience independently applying and interpreting the Federal Motor Carrier Safety and Commercial Driver’s License Regulations. Experience independently researching and analyzing medical documentation and applying analytical, fact-finding and problem-solving techniques. KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS AND ABILITIES (KSAs): Your qualifications will be evaluated on the basis of your level of knowledge, skills, abilities and/or competencies in the following areas: Attention to Detail - Is thorough when performing work and conscientious about attending to detail. Manages and Organizes Information - Identifies a need; gathers, organizes, and maintains information; determines its importance and accuracy, and communicates it by a variety of methods. Self-Management - Sets well-defined and realistic personal goals; displays a high level of initiative, effort, and commitment towards completing assignments in a timely manner; works with minimal supervision; is motivated to achieve; demonstrates responsible behavior. Decision Making - Makes sound, well-informed, and objective decisions; perceives the impact and implications of decisions; commits to action, even in uncertain situations, to accomplish organizational goals; causes change.
