This position is located in Department of Homeland Security, U.S. Coast Guard, U.S. Coast Guard Academy, Office of the Superintendent, New London, CT.
Duties
You will serve as the Secretary to the U.S. Coast Guard Academy Superintendent and the staff for Coast Guard, providing secretarial and office management support as well as directing all program, administrative and support operations for the Command.

Qualifications
You qualify for the GS-09 grade level if you possess one year of specialized experience at the GS-08 grade level performing duties such as:
Reviewing and editing all outgoing correspondence;
Preparing correspondence and other documents in proper grammar, spelling, punctuation, and format;
Receiving visitors, maintaining files, incoming correspondence, typographical errors;
Scheduling supervisor's activities, composing correspondence, resolving problems, locating information, organizing workflow of office;
Following up on action items, requisitioning supplies, equipment, services for the office chief and staff;
Identifying workflow problems, scheduling conflicts, and other situations with negative impact on organizational efficiency or effectiveness;
Performing records management duties including developing, maintaining, verifying and evaluating existing systems;
Performing advance office automation work; organize data into graph, spreadsheets, or other mediums of representation;
Explaining non-technical policies/procedures with authority to establish administrative priorities, assign work, interpret guidelines and manage the office.
