This is a Direct Hire Authority (DHA) solicitation utilizing the DHA for Certain Personnel of the DoD Workforce to recruit and appoint qualified candidates to positions in the competitive service.
About the Position: This position is located with the Directorate of Public Works, Fort Campbell, KY.
Duties
Serve as the technical and administrative supervisor over one of the HVAC North, Central, or South Shops.
Assign the work of subordinates while evaluating their work performance.
Plan and schedule work assignments on a long-range and short range basis.
Exercise considerable experience and knowledge of trades and labor work.
Assure that materials are ordered and delivered to work sites.
Investigate work related problems to identify causes; implements those corrective action.
Requirements
- Appointment may be subject to a suitability or fitness determination, as determined by a completed background investigation.
- This position requires the incumbent to maintain a Universal Certification for servicing air conditioning and refrigeration equipment-EPA 40 CFR within 180 days of entering position.

- Required to maintain a valid state driver's license.

- Position is designated inclement weather essential, employee may be required to perform duties exposed to extreme weather.
- Incumbent may be required to work nonstandard duty hours (e.g., shifts, weekends, holidays, overtime-both scheduled and unscheduled.
- A one year Supervisory probation period to assess your ability to perform supervisory duties is required unless previously completed.

Minimum Qualifications (Screen Out Element): Ability to do the work of a(n) HVAC Equipment Mechanic Supervisor ~ without more than normal supervision. Performing common supervisor tasks including: Directing and reviewing the work subordinates and administrative responsibilities (e.g. reports, records, and inspections). Repairing heating units, air conditioning units, ventilation systems, vacuum systems, air compressors and duct systems. These duties have been performed under normal supervision. - Failure to meet this Screen out Element will result in an ineligible rating.
