You will serve as a PROGRAM ANALYST in the Health Physics Branch (Code 105.57), Deputy, Radiation Health Division (Code 105.5A), Radiation Health Division (Code 105.5), Deputy, Radiological Control NNSY Waterfront (105.1), Radiological Control Office (Code 105) of NORFOLK NAVAL SHIPYARD.

Duties

You will manage and maintain comprehensive Medical Surveillance and radiation Health Physical Exam Program. You will conduct internal audits of Radiation Health Physical Exam Programs. You will maintain documentation of deficiencies and corrective actions taken extracting statistical information. You will provide Radiation Health Physical Exam program training to military and civilian personnel. You will present Radiation Health Physical Exams for inspection to audit teams. You will produce and edit technical reports detailing findings and evaluation.

  • You will be required to obtain and maintain an interim and/or final security clearance prior to entrance on duty. Failure to obtain and maintain the required level of clearance may result in the withdrawal of a job offer or removal.
  • You will be required to wear personal protective equipment such as helmets, gloves, coveralls, glasses, goggles, respirators and safety shoes continuously for the duration of the work shift.
  • Work is performed in areas where potentially harmful physical and chemical agents are present (e.g. fumes, dust, heat, ionizing and non-ionizing radiation and chemicals). You will be required to participate in medical surveillance programs.

Qualifications

Your resume must demonstrate at least one year of specialized experience at or equivalent to the GS-11 grade level or pay band in the Federal service or equivalent experience in the private or public sector. Specialized experience must demonstrate the following: Experience implementing detailed knowledge of types of ionizing radiation medical examinations, REAB processes, and reporting and documentation requirements per NAVMED P-5055. Experience implementing detailed knowledge of radiation health programs, duties of medical department personnel, radiation health officer duties and responsibilities, and occupational radiation exposure per MANMED and NAVSEA. Experience applying the principles of hazard control, and the Safety and Occupational Health (SOH) Program. Experience implementing the knowledge of industrial hygiene, records sampling, Occupational and Environmental Medicine (EOM) Program, and the Ionizing Medical Surveillance Program. Experience analyzing medical data, interpreting medical data, and explaining medical data. Experience conducting studies, collecting and organizing data for statistical reports or instructions, and consulting with activity representatives. Experience providing technical direction and communicating technical information for reports, instructions and operating procedures of a Radiation Health Program. Experience analyzing and interpreting medical data, proactively resolve issues, and communicating effectively both orally and written.
