About the Position: These positions will be filled in the Security Office located at the Engineering Research and Development Center in Vicksburg, Mississippi.
Duties
Serve as a Security Professional for the protection of SCI resources and technologies.
Implement and administer the Sensitive Compartmented Information (SCI) Security Program.
Implement and administer the Personnel Security Program.
Establish local procedures for processing access requests for military, civilian and contractor personnel.
Implement and administer the physical security program. Implements DOD, USA, DIA and USACE policies and directives for the construction, protection and operation of all advanced programs facilities.
Requirements
- This position requires the incumbent be able to obtain and maintain a determination of eligibility for a Top Secret security clearance or access for the duration of employment.
- Appointment to this position is subject to a one-year probationary period unless the appointee has previously met the requirements as described in 5 CFR Part 315.
- The duties of this position meet the criteria for compliance with Federal and Department of the Army Drug Free Workplace Programs. This position is subject to a pre-employment screening, and random testing thereafter.
- This position has a Temporary Duty (TDY) or business travel requirement of 10% of the time.
- Obtain and maintain SPeD Certification: Physical Security Certification (PSC) within their first two years of employment. Should be updated to the SFPC.

Specialized Experience: I have one year of specialized experience equivalent at the GS-09 grade level (or higher) in the Federal service which includes supporting the management of access and personnel files in appropriate program systems for all accessed personnel; to review and approve all construction, expansion, or modifications to Sensitive Compartmented Information Facilities (SCIFs) for accreditation and reaccreditation; ensure all cleared personnel are trained annually to reduce the probability of a security incident that causes grave harm to national security; and manage all aspects of the SCI education and awareness program for personnel within the command, components and subordinate commands."
This definition of specialized experience is typical of work performed at the second lower grade/level position in the federal service (GS-09).
Time in Grade Requirement: Applicants who have held a General Schedule (GS) position within the last 52 weeks must have 52 weeks of Federal service at the next lower grade or equivalent (GS-09).
