Duties

You will inspect sheet metal components; analyze and evaluate damage. You will set up, adjust, and operate powered and non-powered tools and equipment of the trade. You will select, cut, bend, and install hardware on all types of sheet metal assemblies. You will operate precision measurement equipment and torque wrenches. You will prepare or provide input for reports. You will provide guidance and training to other employees.

• You will be required to complete training, obtain, and maintain a government credit card for travel and travel-related purchases.
• This position may require travel from normal duty station to CONUS and OCONUS and may include remote or isolated sites. You must be able to travel on military and commercial aircraft for extended periods of time.
• This position requires a State Criminal History Repository (SCHR) check to be completed on any person selected for this position.

Qualifications

This job has a screen-out element which will be used to determine minimum eligibility for this job. Applicants who do not receive a minimum of two points on the screen-out element(s) will be found ineligible. The Screen-out Element for this position is: ABILITY TO DO THE WORK OF THE POSITION WITHOUT MORE THAN NORMAL SUPERVISION. Services, inspects, maintains and determines cause of malfunctions and makes repairs, or overhauls to motor transport equipment and variety of heavy mobile equipment/vehicles including their major systems. Service and performs diagnoses, modification, overhaul, repair and maintenance of complex electrical devices, equipment and components, including those which are integrated groupings of electrical and related controls containing printed and miniaturized electronic control circuitry.
