This position is located in DEPARTMENT OF HOMELAND SECURITY, U.S. COAST GUARD, DEP COMDT FOR MISSION SUPPORT, DIR OF OPERATIONAL LOGISTICS, OFFICE OF BASE OPERATIONS (DOL-3), BASE KETCHIKAN PROCUREMENT & CONTRACTING DEPT (S) in Ketchikan, AK.

This position is responsible for procurement to support SILC-COCO-BSS and all Areas of Responsibility (AOR) including but not limited to: the acquisition of supplies, services, minor construction, or emergency response to procure any commodity/service required to support the AOR.Being a Coast Guard civilian makes you a valuable member of the Coast Guard team. - Males born after 12/31/1959 must be registered for Selective Service.
- U.S. Citizenship is required.
- This position required a National Agency Check with Inquiries (NACI).
Qualifications
Qualifications for GS-06:
1 year of specialized experience equivalent to at least the GS-05 grade level.
Examples include:
Determining price reasonableness, cost / price analysis, scheduling of timely deliveries.
Applying purchasing methods and procedures to perform purchasing work.
Working with suppliers to ensure the lowest possible price.
Qualifications for GS-07:
1 year of specialized experience equivalent to at least the GS-06 grade level.
Determining price reasonableness, cost / price analysis, scheduling of timely deliveries.
Applying specialized technical purchasing methods and procedures to perform complex purchasing work.
Using negotiation techniques to negotiate both pre-award and post-award changes.
Experience advising about various socio-economic policies and programs sufficient to assist small and small-disadvantaged business firms of opportunities and procedures for obtaining federal contracts.
Specialized experience is experience that has equipped you with the particular ability, skill, and knowledge to successfully perform the duties of this position and is typically in or related to this line of work.
