Duties
Evaluate, install, maintain, diagnose, repair, calibrate, and test medical electronic equipment/systems used at Army Medical Treatment Facilities (MTFs).
Develop knowledge of the most complex systems such as DINPACs and very large/ sophisticated patient monitoring systems in order to provide first look at these systems, with direct support repair provided by contractor.
The paramount requirement is knowledge of electronic theory and medical procedures.
Install sophisticated/complex medical equipment and/or systems to include (1) standalone equipment and/or components that contain integrated circuitry (designed along an event and where the patient becomes part of the circuit) and/or microprocessors.
Provide guidance to other technicians when required.
Serve as an adviser for special projects involving the installation, service and repair of highly complex medical equipment and systems as well as technical advisor to clinical staff.
Perform maintenance, troubleshooting, repairs, overhaul, and surveillance testing of electronic components, medical equipment and systems, and modifications based on official guidance.
Conduct preventive maintenance checks and services (PM) inspections of medical PCE to include visual inspections, operational checks, electrical safety inspections, calibration, and verification performance.
Operate a wide variety of Test Measurement and Diagnostic Equipment (TMDE) to include invasive and non-invasive.
Requirements
- Tier 1: Appointment to this position is subject to a background investigation to determine your suitability for Federal employment.
- Must possess a valid civilian driver's license.
- May be required to obtain a government driver's license.
- This position is subject to a mandatory seasonal influenza vaccination.
- This position requires a DoD Biomedical Maintenance Certification or the Civilian Educational Equivalent.
- May be required to lift over 40 pounds.
- This position requires the completion of a pre-employment Physical Examination and an annual examination thereafter to ensure the continued, required level of physical health and ability or fitness to perform the duties of the position.
