About the Position:Visual Information Specialist is responsible for assisting customers in planning and preparing presentation materials, and advises customers on various properties.

Duties

Coordinate with other employees on specific requirements and provides guidance on alternative methods or materials. Consult with supervisor on new or difficult projects or processes. Maintain equipment manuals to ensure instructions are readily available regarding equipment operations, processes and procedures. Perform initial visual inspection and testing of new equipment to ensure all component parts are present and item operates properly. Maintain files of correspondence and publications in accordance with agency guidelines.

Requirements

  • Appointment may be subject to a suitability or fitness determination, as determined by a completed background investigation.
  • This position require the incumbent to possess or obtain and maintain a valid state Driver's License.
  • Occasional travel - You may be expected to travel up to 15% for this position.
  • Position requires some weekend work, and work beyond the normal operation hours, may also be required.
  • Maintain files of correspondence and publications in accordance with agency guidelines.
  • This is a Temporary position intended to last ( 13 months}.

Specialized Experience: One year of specialized experience which includes 1) Assisting customers with preparing presentation materials, 2) Maintaining files of correspondence and publications in accordance with agency guidelines and 3) Ordering multi media equipment. This definition of specialized experience is typical of work performed at the second lower grade/level position in the federal service (GS-07). OR Education: Master's or equivalent graduate degree or 2 full years of progressively higher level graduate education leading to such a degree in a field which demonstrates the knowledge, skills, and abilities necessary to do the work of the position, such as Communications, commercial art, fine arts, art history, industrial design, architecture, drafting, interior design, photography, visual communication, or other fields related to the position. OR Combination of Education and Experience: A combination of education and experience may be used to qualify for this position as long as the computed percentage of the requirements is at least 100%. To compute the percentage of the requirements, divide your total months of experience by 12. Then divide the total number of completed graduate semester hours (or equivalent) beyond the first year (total graduate semester hours minus 18) by 18. Add the two percentage. You will be evaluated on the basis of your level of competency in the following areas: Customer ServiceStrategic ThinkingTechnology Management Time in Grade Requirement: Applicants who have held a General Schedule (GS) position within the last 52 weeks must have 52 weeks of Federal service at the next lower grade or equivalent (GS-07).
