This position is located in DHS/U.S. Coast Guard, Deputy Commandant of Mission Support, Director of Operational Logistics, Base Portsmouth, Comptroller and Base Operations Department, Logistics Division Sector Delaware Bay, in Atlantic City, NJ.

Duties

The primary function is to ensure proper material management is executed to achieve and maintain an optimized supply chain and Chief Financial Officer (CFO) compliance. Being a CG civilian makes you a valuable member of the CG team.  Typical work assignments include:

Qualifications

Applicants must have one (1) year of specialized experience equivalent to the GS-07 level, or master's or equivalent graduate degree or 2 full years of progressively higher level graduate education leading to such a degree. Specialized experience is experience that has equipped you with the particular ability, skill, and knowledge to successfully perform the duties of this position and is typically in or related to this line of work. Examples of specialized experience include:  Performing records functions in inventory, storage, and receipt and control processes; conducting physical inventories. Providing assistance to unit personnel on quality control issues; maintaining accurate and timely supply data using multiple logistics systems. Providing assistance and advice to unit personnel on the availability of material and the resolution of discrepancies. National Service Experience (i.e., volunteer experience): Experience refers to paid and unpaid experience, including volunteer work done through National Service programs (e.g., Peace Corps, AmeriCorps) and other organizations (e.g., professional; philanthropic; religious; spiritual; community, student, social). Volunteer work helps build critical competencies, knowledge, and skills and can provide valuable training and experience that translates directly to paid employment. You will receive credit for all qualifying experience, including volunteer experience.The Office of Personnel management (OPM) must authorize employment offers made to current or former political appointees.  If you are currently, or have been within the last 5 years, a political Schedule A, Schedule, C, Non-career SES or Presidential Appointee employee in the Executive Branch, you must disclose this information to the Human Resources Office.
