Position is located within the Division of Nursing Services, Ft. Belknap Service Unit, Harlem, MT and reports to the Chief Executive Officer. Position provides direction and leadership for nursing staff to maintain continuity of comprehensive patient care.
Duties
Maintain accountability for nursing program to assure adherence to ethical, legal, regulatory and professional standards.
Provide leadership in health care management and quality patient care.
Provide supervision to a variety of nursing staff.
Participate in development of nursing program budget requirements.

Qualifications
To qualify for this position, your resume must state sufficient experience and/or education, to perform the duties of the specific position for which you are applying.

Basic Requirements for the GS-12 (or equivalent) Grade Level
In addition to the mandatory license and education described above under Basic Requirements applicants must have at least one or more full years of professional nursing experience that is equivalent to the GS-11 grade level.
MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS: Your resume must demonstrate at least one (1) year of specialized experience equivalent to at least the next lower grade level in the Federal service obtained in either the private or public sector performing the following type of work and/or tasks:
Example of specialized experience: perform the full spectrum of supervisory personnel management to ensure the implementation and oversight of quality nursing care; enforces all appropriate standards including but not limited to those of an applicable health care accreditation organization; assurance that patient's needs are adequately met and nursing services are rendered in accordance with current standards for nursing practice; collaborate with staff on nursing documentation analysis, evaluation and program planning including development of staff education and skills competence activities.
Time In Grade
Federal employees in the competitive service are also subject to the Time-In-Grade Requirements: Merit Promotion (status) candidates must have completed one year of service at the next lower grade level. Time-In-Grade provisions do not apply under the Excepted Service Examining Plan (ESEP).
